I'd like to cancel my account and create a new one under this name because I done goofed. I was buying and selling my own 'mechs left and right because I was thinking 300,000 C-bills per round was going to be the norm. Imagine my surprise when I was suddenly dropped to about 20,000 C-bills a round. Now I'm seriously one sad panda because I wasted about 10-15 million C-bills and have absolutely nothing to show for it. That's why I'd like to restart my account, and I need suggestions to help me figure out how to do that.

Your best bet would be to send an email to support@mwomercs.com.

This. Explain how you borked you're cadet bonus and want to start anew without having to make a second account. I'm sure they'll help out, its been my experience over the last year that the folks in support are actually extremely helpful.

Don't be surprised if they say no as this would open the floodgates. They are more inclined to tell you to start a new account with a different name.

I don't believe a "reset" is possible. I suggest making a fresh account.

Please note that the cadet bonus lasts for your first 25 matches. That bonus is responsible for the large sum (just shy of 8 million) to hop you get on your feet.

Multiple accounts are allowed, just don't use them to support your own forum posts (ie sockpuppeting)

Another victim to the lack of documentation of this game..

Sad for you sir but unless there is a really compelling reason to keep it (MC purchases etc) I agree with the rest. Ditch the account and start afresh. If you HAVE spent real cash on MC/Phoenix etc then support is the only way to go. But as I said please mention it was the lack of info about when cadet finishes that assisted your poor decisions. Maybe that will swing it for you.

Good luck

Don't forget, when you make your new account (that's the route to go), to turn off ad blockers, go to the download page, and redeem your free day of premium time, which will stack with your cadet bonus.

Make a fresh account, and use your one free day of premium time on it. that way your gains are multiplied by 1.5, meaning your 8 million C-Bills from the Cadet bonus is now 12 million C-Bills. You can buy any non-hero/champion mech in the game that you want. There will never, ever be a better time to use premium time than when you have your Cadet Bonus.

To be precise, in most cases it's the lack of info that this bonus even exists. I bet 95% of all newbies, including me, simply wondered why income suddenly drops.
Lets see how UI2.0 will handle this.

Yup.. I didn't catch on to the cadet thing until I was distracted from the awesome game play and decided to read the forums a bit while stuck away from my home PC. All the info is here... but for many, reading the instruction manual is NOT the first thing they do. Luckily, I'm cheap, so I hadn't sold anything off. I trialed the catapult, then bought one and continued to build it up. I was kinda surpised about the time needed to earn the last couple upgrades (mostly cause I blew money on armor AND structure. Still debating undoing one of them, as I currently don't like that mech anymore.

Ferro-fibrous armor is typically a waste on anything but lights, as the heavier mechs have greater need of the crit spaces. Of the two, endo-steel save you more weight. Some mechs benefit from having neither though. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/ is your friend.

Haha, I don't know about better grammar, since the other way I spell it is "NExUS1g". :)

That'll work for me since I don't use ad blockers anyway. I never saw the ability to claim that free time though. There's so much happening on the main screen, my head spun and just looked for the button that let me play! :) Thanks for the heads up. :)

I sent the email and explained my situation. Thanks for this information. Hopefully they'll be willing to help me, because I just don't feel like making another email account just to start another account here.

Step 1: go to the download page.

Posted Image

Step 2: Click the big blue button

Posted Image

Step 3: Click the "Redeem now Premium time" button bottom left (Mine says "offer redeemed" already)

Troubleshooting: Clear browsing data, disable ad blockers. Try a different computer or a different browser.

Here's a really simple way - show you in a tutorial. A combat tutorial that will show you how to fight and give you a breakdown of all the afterbattle information.

I knew enough to click on the tab to see how much I earned. I don't think most players realized that existed into many matches into the game.

I can tell you now how it will handle it.

It won't have to.

U.I. 2.0 is supposed to provide the player with a mandatory series of tutorials, as well as several optional additional tutorials. At the conclusion of the mandatory one, the player will have access to purchasing his or her first mech with a lump some of 7 or 8,500,000 cbills or so.

"Trial mechs will always be available." Though not in the same "you have to use these" way as before.

We'll need to prepare for the flood of help requests with bad first mech choices, and people wanting to know what to get first.

Redeeming Premium

Really what they need to do is just knock off the Free Premium Time and the Cadet Bonus and hand the new player 12m CB. That way no new player suffers instant regret over hosing their bonus or not min/maxing the start.

I know they are doing a NPE thing. The end result should just be 12m CB like they can get now if they do things correctly.

EDIT: With a gigantic multiple confirm window that says this is equal to about 150 matches worth of earnings so go see New Player Forums before you go do something silly with the CB like sticking FF on an Awesome.
