Title says diabling macros. Because he mentioned ac2's your stuck on ac2's . Of course there are many acs and many running macros but it is definetly a strecth to consider them in the argument. hence my unicorn statement.

You want the argument to disappear. I get it. You will use any tool to make that happen. I get that too.

I have to assume you still need macros. I may play poopry as the above poster indicates he knows. But.. I dont need crutches or teamates i am familiar with or VOIP to make sure I do well.

Translation, Teamwork and communication are OP / cheating... and you've yet to explain how a macro can do anything that holding down the button cant.

Oh, just go pander to somebody else elsewhere. You are clearly here to troll us, not have a rational discussion. I asked, twice, for examples and you ignored me. Instead, you essentially brushed me off as if I used macros myself (hint: I don't and never have) and therefore my opinion did not count.

I feel offended at how you behave towards me and everybody else in this thread.

It would probably be illegal to block macros, even if it were possible, as you're affecting something outside the software in MWO. Note I don't use macros, don't care about them being used against me, and only entered this thread because macro threads are alwas amusing.

A better question is how does the OP expect MWO to disable macros?

MWO talks to my network card, my network card talks to Windows. Windows runs MWO. My keyboard and mouse talks to Windows, not MWO.

So exactly what kind of keylogger is MWO going to install on my machine to detect macros with? And what kind of server side authentication checks will they need to make sure my computer isn't using one?

And then I wonder what happens when I log in and my g300 mouse with macro capabilities is detected. Are they going to ban me for having a macro capable mouse? That'd be a real shame since I a regularly paying customer and they'd loose me and many many others as a customer.

Is there nothing that bads can not imagine is the real cause of their losing?

I mean except their being bad, which is apparently impossible for them to imagine.

Having several AC "Boat"s myself and getting toasted by just as many more, there is literally nothing a macro can do to give you an advantage over another player except possibly a little more heat/fire control, the recycle for the weapons is built into the game, not the macro....

An even better question is why do you need macros on MWO?

No, seriously, explain to us how a macro gives AC2 users an advantage. Tell us... what do they do with said macro that angers you so?

Because the DEV's put in Ghost Heat, those users who use macros now have an advantage over everyone else. Why?

-Put 5 LL on chain fire so you chain shoot a LL about every 1/2 second OR macro to fire 3 LL then 2 LL on target to get focused damage
-Put 4 LRM 15's on chain fire so you shoot a LRM15 every 1/2 second against a mech with AMS and have 11 LRM'***** per volley OR macro 2 LRM 15's volleys every 1/2 sec against a mech with AMS and have 26 LRM'***** per volley (you would get 8 more LRM's over chain fire due to AMS in the previous scenario)
- If you are a hack, you would run 2 PPC + 1 Gauss with a macro present to allow it that when you take your finger off the fire button it chains both the PPC's + Gauss to fire without having to hit both buttons at once. This is actually the only macro at this time that is a prime example of how PGI can't code.

I run those macros myself to make my life easier with the ghost heat. Right now stating macros don't give you an advantage is a joke. Now, stating that PGI can remove macros though, there is very little they can do against macros without investing a lost of time and even then they will fail.

The best step PGI can take regarding macros is to simply allow all users to create "ghetto macros" by letting them manually input their own chainfire delay number from the mechlab (also, allow "group chainfire" that cycles through entire groups). Then everyone can do it (without being bothered to seek third-party programs).

Piranha has went on the record numerous times that macros are not cheating. Of course Piranha has went on the record numerous times about how it would not put in wall hacks or coolant flush but look what we got.

Bingo.

Of course, Piranha would have to code a demo on how to set up a macro but you know, they won't do that.

Just allow players to manually enter their desired chainfire delay from the mechlab. Problem solved.

Seriously, why aren't people asking for this?

I've been harping on this since who knows when.

I have a macro on my mouse that turns the wheel into zoom. Up for regular zoom, down for 4x

Shame I'm going to be penalized for doing something that the game should.

You are, of course, failing to read what I actually wrote.

Please reread the post you responded to very carefully. I'll even be nice and re-quote it here with bolded letters for emphasis..

Do you see it yet?

Please note how a certain troll is yet to respond to that...!

For the record, I have seen someone use a macro to do a quick burst of 4 AC2 shells like a quarter second spaced per shell, then pause for a half second... but that actually lowers DPS, alpha and increases the odds of spreading damage, so I don't really see how that provides an advantage.

The whole macro business is largely dramatically overstated. (but I do agree there are cases, like the ones you presented, where having a macro makes life much easier)

I said it then and I'll say it now.

People fear the the noise of DAKKA DAKKA not the DAKKA DAKKA damage.
