First off, sorry if this idea has been brought up by others, I've been very busy recently and have not kept up to date on the game (other then the requisite 30 minutes of play here or there).

I had a general thought on how players could further influence the (upcoming) battle line meta game. It's pretty simple, allow players to loan Mechs to planets (or causes). These 'loner' Mechs could be selected by other players that will be fighting for control on that planet (much like a trial Mech). Whenever your loaned Mech is used by another you earn a small reward (encouragement to loan\develop good builds), but more importantly the outcome of the match could also be influenced (while newer players can get a taste for what a decked out Mech can accomplish) by better equipping the side you favor.

I'll let your imaginations take it from here, but I think this could add some really interesting dynamic to the meta game (with presumably a modest development effort).

I agree so long as R&R comes back and the owner pays the bill.

Seems like that would be and invitation to troll...

Too easy to exploit. I'm sure someone will come up with the idea of "loaning" mastered, kitted out mechs to people for real money paid outside the game.

The only people this would really benefit are new players, and that could be corrected by just giving them better trial mechs.
