I was wondering how the teams are made up, I notice the red teams seem to be teams and have full groups and blue will drop some times with 3 less. Also blue group is more of a PUG which everyone just running after kills while the red team seems to work together to win. Is there a difference in teams?

LIES! Next you'll be telling us the game is unstable and most people disconnecting are locking up during the launch sequence.

I actually go one step further and claim, that a system called ELO mixes players of different skill levels together in order to balance the average skill of both teams.

Someone who wants to leave questionmarks above new players heads.

Hope we could help you DyDrimer. And always remember, it's not the team that is supposed to follow and help you, it's you who is supposed to follow and help your team.

Next you'll be saying people that stick together and focus fire win. And that lone wolf mechs die alone!

There is only one instance in which I was considered the red team with the red team as my team. Most of my allies were still blue, however. It was only the bases I captured which turned red -- but they were blue to everyone else.

Note the base names, colors, etc. It's red on the map, but blue on the score screen at the top. When I capture it, the map one turns blue but the score turns it red.

Yeah, I have noticed a HUGE difference in red and blue wins, I play in the early morning (est) and blue team just lost 10 in a row....yup 10 IN A ROW and I wish I could say this isnt commonplace but it is, its like this every night for me, honestly I have to say if this match maker isnt fixed or changed I see people suck on blue leaving the game after a month or two. who is going to pay to lose? I mainly play a spider, i stay out of combat and capture points because us killing the red team is SO rare that its almost pointless to even try.... *sigh* balance the game guys!

Fixing one team, then trying to build another to match. Which kinda works about half the time. The other times, you end up rolling or getting rolled easy.

Ehm as i mentioned earlier: The blue team is always your team and the red team is always the enemy team. That is not because red team is premium players, premade groups etc. und you are a lone wolf stuck on the blue team, it's because the game is set this way. And guess what, for the enemys YOU are on the red team. I agree that matchmaking is not perfectly balanced atm. We will see if that changes when weight limits will be introduced.

Red is other Team, Blue is your team as people have mentioned.

The reason sometimes you see very organized teams is because if one side gets alot of 3-4 person lances drop together, they will be much more organized then a pure pug. When you form groups you can form them as anything upto 4 or a full group of 12. Not sure if 12s drop against pugs. I do know that 2-4s do. Which is also the reason people get annoyed when the groups get rearranged by someone taking command.

I've noticed something different related to team colour - I have never seen a red team that is short players as the match starts. It is always the blue team, my team, that starts with a short roster when I've seen it occur. While both teams may have disconnects as the match starts, it seems that blue always gets the short end of the stick form the get go. Maybe it's just me. Do I smell? *sniff sniff* Nope.

Your team is not starting out short on players.

For some reason, the names of the enemy players (red team) populate on the scoreboard very quickly at the start of a match, while your teammates' names take time to fill in. It's weird, and it may make it look like your team is short on players, but it's not. Press TAB to look at the scoreboard right after the 'Mech startup sequence and you'll see a full 12-man roster on both sides. Very very rarely will a team start short on players, and when it does happen it's because a 2-4 man group that dropped together had a player crash to desktop or disconnect.

To add to what the guy above me (hi, DEMAX) said - the developers did a post on that, and it is a display bug - your teammates names are invisible (really funny when someone on the other side comments in chat about it)
