Hi Everyone,

I've been doing decently well with my DWF-B Variant and though I'd share it with you here.
As you can see, I've played 154 matches as a PUG player so far, and already managed to score a 2.38 K/D Ratio with an average damage of 480+ per match.

I find that this build excels at long range fighting and even 1 to 1 brawling (Use Small Lasers when brawling). The only weakness of this mech is LRM and falling under the occasional dakka wolf assault... when you are under heavy fire, you can barely see what's in front and the mech shake makes it difficult to aim.

With this mech , I can disarm or outright kill a target in 2-3 (Dual Gauss - Dual ERLL) shots that is 1000-1300m away.

Here's the link for the build:

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=173&l=d4fcef495a53b73d735c7e1ab225b131c04d93e9

Modules:
- Advanced Seismic
- Advanced Zoom (A must for Sniping)
- (ELITE) Radar Deprivation

Strategy:
- Your mech is separated to Right Half and Left Half.
- Your left half consist of Targeting computer, 2 Small Lasers, 2 SPulse Lasers. Therefore your left half is your shield torso, use this to block incoming damage (E: Incoming missiles) during firing cooldown.
- Your right half consist of high damage, long range armaments:
ERLL can hit up to 2000m
ELML can hit up to 1000m
- Positioning : Always find a structure in front of you that covers the left half of your mech. After firing your guns, reverse into the cover, then forward back to firing, rinse and repeat.

Start the battle by finding a good position and picking off targets from long range in the beginning of the battle. Get closee when most enemy is damaged/hiding.

- Don't get left behind by your team, you'll die really fast when 3 or more mechs focus fire on you, even light mechs.

- IF Target is between 1600m ~ 2000m --> Fire only ERLL
- IF Target is between 1000m ~ 1600m --> Fire Dual Gauss + ERLL
- IF Target is between 500m ~ 1000m --> Fire Dual Gauss + ERLL + ERML
- IF Target is between 0m ~ 500m --> Fire all your SL + ERML + Dual Gauss (IF you have heat to spare, then only use the ERLL)

Some quick question and answers:

Why Direwolf-B?
Because it can mount an additional Lasers on the CT. More lasers is thx.

Why mount the Gauss Cannon on your RT/LT? Won't that cause explosion?
- Mounting it on the Torso gives a higher elevation to your gun point and for something that packs such a high damage, you'll not want it to end up shooting sand.
- Yes, putting it on the Torso could risk the gun exploding, that is why you need a cover when firing your guns so you can use the structure to shield off some incoming fire.

Why Targeting Computer 4?
- Range, and CRIT, yes, all your Lasers can crit, i'm not sure how it works but ever since the patch hits yesterday, I find that I'm doing more average dmg than my ERPPC META and I can hit further (up to 2000m) away with the ERLL
- Zoom: you can zoom further with this, perfect for sniping build

Why Small Pulse Laser?
Reason 1: You want to fire all 5 of your small lasers at close range for pin point damage.
Reason 2: IF you only used primarily ERSL, when firing together 3 of your ERSL will generate ghost heat.
Reason 3: Both the Pulse Lasers and ERSL have roughly same maximum range, so you don't have to worry about your lasers not hitting at longer range

if ur looking to crit...u need something that fires more shots...period. its like dice rolls in the casino...more rolls means more chances of coming up 7's.

UAC 2/5's would be fine since they fire in such rapid succcession. keep the pair of ERLL, and the boatload of ERSML. manage your heat. Thats the credo behind the clan mechs. The only other way to increase possible crits is adding a pair of machine guns to the arms for the close up brawls.

another method would be to swap the balistics for missiles. a 2x LRM 15's or 3x lrm 10's with 1000+ ammo would give you a lot of chances to get your crits.

Well from what I understood, the fun thing about the targetting computer is it gives a crit chance to your normal non-crit lasers, making it lethal.

I used to run a twin gauss, twin PPC meta, but i noticed this one's more heat efficient.

I tried Quad AC10s before, didn't do well with them, hate the bullet size, you'll end up shooting ground more than hitting the targets. We all know the Clan ACs aren't good for pin pointing and harder to hit moving targets.

ACs effective range is 1125m, but it'll deal very little damage, you'll need to be within 500-750m for it to deal devastating effects. Its not easy to play catchup with a giant direwolf.

This build allows you to engage 2000m away, and the small lasers give you a decent chance at fending off brawler targets.

engaging past 1000m causes a big reduction in damage. 2000m is just a waste of ammo. im not a fan of the ppc's, and from damage/heat ratio...lrg pulse lasers are better than er large lasers in clan config. all u get is the extra range for extra heat. with the gauss, thats mitigated quite a bit, but effective range on gauss and lrg pulse is the same. the shield torso idea works, the theory is sound, i think a few tweaks wouldnt hurt.
