So... Is there a reason to survive a round if you're the last one and the other team is going to cap? I mean revenge by suicide denies the other team the cap victory bonus, but what do you get out if you just shut down and let the clock run out?
Just something I've realized recently that when you see there is no way to win, and just to be spiteful, you go suicide and nothing changes on your end. You get no bonus for coming back alive, and they lose XP for killing you losing that cap victory.
It's just interesting.

Well, if they're capping, and you're not in direct contact, there's no particular reason to go out in a blaze of glory unless you know there's a severely damaged mech on their team that you can finish off with one good shot.
It's dishonorable to go shut down somewhere if they're still looking for a fight, but if they're about to win by capping, you can kind of do whatever you feel like. Personally, I normally use these opportunities to stand up, look into a mirror, tears in my eyes, and say, "No Grandma, I didn't win the match. I hate 'em! I hate 'em! I hate 'em!"

It all depends on how dire the situation is. If there's 5 atlases left and you're the only one left, kamikaze just to get the round over with. Even then, I never really go full suicide-mode. I fight knowing that I will die, but I intend to eke it out as long as possible. You're still padding your score even if it's a loss. More damage = more cbills.
Plus, it's an honor thing. Mechwarriors are space-knights. Ain't gonna wuss out like a punk. And it's really good practice to play cat and mouse in that kind of situation. I've seen really good light pilots do some divide-and-conquer stuff up against assaults and win, just because they wanted that last kill.

I don't see it as my rrsponsi ilty to make it easy for them to finish me off. If they want to kill me even tho the match is decided I am gonna make em work for it.
