I'm based in North America. Pacific time zone. If you'll accept me despite the 2nd Battlemech Company being closed, I'd be happy.

Is that.... foams? Or just badly spray-painted... or something. I can see the red surface has some details to it.
Can you explain why you have the.... "thing" around your PC?
EDIT: Not trying to insult you, just trying to wrap my head around it.

Look, this isn't an avocation to troll or shaming. There are few WSB members that I've personally met around MWO and they're very kind and friendly. One person was kindly enough to keep me company while waiting in TS3. No doubt this would have been something to look forward to playing with.
During the process in recruitment, I did warn them of my hearing impairment and wanted to try my best to work with voice system. Which I've been avoiding most part of my "gaming" life. Sure, I may only hear about 50% of the words at times, if message are short and simple, I could hear it. If it's a long dialog, forget it. I don't know what they're talking about, maybe if I had to guess.
John responded via email after the recruitment form. Bringing to the point about my hearing topic.
John Clavell said:
I thought that was very reasonable and proper way to determine whether I would fit in or not, with given "trial" chance.
It took a while to meet up with Orion or John on TS3. During those waiting, I've been joining a temp group with people from IRC chat and been using TS3 with a working mic (at the time). My experience with voice has been a bit of edification. It wasn't hard nor too difficult but has been a lot better than I had expected. With same people from a temp group has evolved from using TS3 less each time we'd win a match. We didn't need to speak as often because we learned enough to handle it together. A month later, the group has pretty much disbanded because they have work, going back to school, etc etc... Oh well.
I was certain that I would do well and maybe even impress WSB during my trial. As time finally catches up, was able to meet up with Orion. Next thing I knew, he tells me that NA recruitment is full and there's nothing for me to do there. Of course, he wasn't rude or said in a harsh way. Tried to explain to him about the trial that John suggested. He took the time to speak with him and tells me the same result.
I just wanted to say this offended me as a naturally-born handicapped person. I wouldn't mind if John had said no up front in his email, instead of talking possibility of anything like a "trial". I don't expect them to change their mind and forgo the trial and be all happy if works out. It does leave me impression that I should stick with "my own kind of people". I've already tried few other clans at the moment and I kept getting same result.
Thought it would be best for them to be aware of things like this.

Also North American recruitment has been closed for a good month or two, and have you been online at the designated times set by Orion for the interview, as the times I've seen you on our TS3 server is generally when neither John or Orion are online.

I'm not mad at WSB. Sure, was disappointing but I've been thinking about others who have same handicaps as I do. I can see others would be hurt and easily get upset about it in a way how my experience was handled. If we don't share and express, no one will learn anything. I've been discriminated rejected by other clans, let alone MWO... in many other games as well. However...
I already knew WSB's intention is a good one, so why not say something to bring them more insight?

Then, all of a sudden in October, you jump on our comms, out of the blue. I don't know what you were expecting. John nor I received any contact from you stating that you wished to continue the Recruitment Process.
So, 4 months go by, with no word from you, and you expect what?
In any case, I did meet with you on our comms to explain CLEARLY that we had closed Bravo (North American) Recruitment, and that Bravo Recruitment had been closed since mid-August.
Then, you proceeded to ask about our Alpha (Euro) Company. I told you that we were still looking for a handful of Euro Mechwarriors. You had stated that because of your hours of playtime would sometimes change, and this would make you a prime candidate for our Alpha Company. Well, I made a call... this is where the touchy subject of your disability comes into play, and told you that we could not accept you into our Alpha Company because of your disability.
Now, all WSB Members speak, read and write English, but, some of our Alpha Mechwarriors do have strong accents. You already stated that you could only understand about 50% of what I was saying, and if you ask most people, I speak very clearly. How would you be able understand people from Europe clearly? Again, I made the call, and I stand by it 100%.
Nacon, you say that you're offended because of your natural born handicap. NEVER once did I offend you. I was clear and cordial with my standing of the situation. However, you did utilize your writing skills, albeit in failure, to attempt to undermine the honor and integrity of John, myself and WSB. That's fine, you're free to do so. With tough calls comes harsh criticism.
I wish all you the best in finding a Mechwarrior unit where your skills can be utilized.
