So I have mastered all mech chassis save for the following: Kintaro, Dragon, and Awesome. With Phoenix dropping tomorrow im trying to decide on the next mech to grind (probably last standard mech for a while) so I want it to be a good one.
For cost I am leaning toward Kintaro though from what ive heard CT hitbox is an issue, on top of that it reminds me of a trebuchet without jumpjets (I love the treb though the prospect of the same thing sans mobility is not enticing)
Anyone have positive experience with Kintaro? Ive heard the 5 missile variant is fun with streaks, and the other two seem viable assuming I can get a decent speed out of them.
Always been curious about dragons. good speed, decent armament though admittedly gimped a bit in tonnage. I never see these on the battlefield, and friends of mine hate theirs so I am hesitant.
Awesome as I am aware is a hot mess, being a giant bulls eye with arms and all (and highly energy / heat dependent - low slung arms etc). Though I am intrigued by some of the faster awesome's I have seen in the field. Seems like it could be a nice support mech played properly, id imagine it might drive like a slow medium with a lot more armor given the right engine.
Anyways I dont usually bring my indecisiveness to the forums but in this case thought peoples experience might push me in the right direction.

Next Mech Conundrum (Kintaro, Dragon. Awesome)

I'd rank them
Dragons
Kintaros
Awesomes.
Although that is based on my pre-movement nerf experience with the Dragons...

You really gonna master 3 variants by (well what another 8 hours?) damn you got some hardcore playing if you can.
Personally I would save teh CBills for rigging up the phoenix mechs.
If I had to chose from the above I'd say Dragon - NOT because performance wise its the best (in which case Id say Kintaro) but I think the Dragon is quite unique in characteristics and may be a refreshing and fun mech to play.

After CT-fix was implemented, Streaktaro is Da Medium right now. Better than Dragons or Awesomes.

I'm a big fan of both the Kintaro and Dragon. The Kintaro's hitboxes were resized and are fine now. Some will say it is too tall but it has never bothered me. I like to load up the KTO-18 with 5xSRM6 launchers and a xl300.
As for the Dragon. The Flame and the 1C have a shoulder hard point in the left torso that is nice for peeking over hills. The 1N and 5N are kinda "meh" in my opinion.

The problem with the Kintaro is that it really shines when the 2x Basics are unlocked. It's too sluggish without it.

True. Before 2X it's like trying to do a barrel-roll with skyscraper, but in the end reward compensates pain rather well.

Probably Kintaro>Awesome (9M only)>any Dragon.
The kintaro after the CT fix has become decent, although I don't find it much useful as light-hunter killer since when weight limits will be introduced, you'll use other lights to get that job done; the AWS is fun to play, but it's big, required hitbox and scale rework, lift of heat penalty for 3PPCs and a bump in engine rating limit for the 8 series to make it faster (325/330 imho); besides that it's not SO bad if you learn to tank with the arms, but it's rather limited in movements and easy to be shot down.
The Dragons are overshadowed by Quickdraws, DRG miss jump jets, can't use anymore the GR as a main weapon, srms's tube like trajectory without artemis capability have crippled even more its brawling capability; this along the movement nerf, huge CT and at high levels of play, easy (yep, really) to hit side torsoes.. make it an old wreck, unfortunately :/
