Yup. Overlord/Saber sucker here. And honestly, no regrets (yet. Hitboxes are still a mystery, after all).

Which Phoenix Mechs and variants get your blood pumping?!?!? Vote above to see which models are the most popular!

*****you might not get em all with your particular Phoenix pack, but you will have free access to the other variants and such when they drop normally, hence just pick which model you see yourself most likely to keep when they ARE available for cbills.

My choices?

LCT-1V (P)
well, Cbill boost is nice, but I happen to like annoying people with MG. That said, an XL 190 equipped SLaser boat 3M could be sneaky nasty.

SHD-2D2
Most balanced weapon load. A Medium laser in each arm, an LRM in the RT, and and SRM in the CT and H, along with the LT ballistic. Even if I have to drop the AC for survivability, having 3x SRM4 plus 2 heavy energy, and JJ? Totally working that!

TDR-5S
I wan´t the 9SE and it´s JJs, but unless we see some serious hard point proliferation, the JJs don´t make up for the loss of ballistics, especially since the Missiles almost certainly have to go to avoid a bad case of Hunchbackitis.

BLR-1D (probably)
Admittedly, I am making an assumption, but I am willing to bet the 1D has more arm mounted energy hardpoints to compensate for the lack of the Missiles. Possibly at the expense of some ST ones. But having more mediums in the arm would be good, and I plan to ditch the missiles on the 1G anyhow, since I don´t really wan´t to auto die like a Hunchy. But if they do have more arm energy, then mount some heavy E in the upper torso slots, and light energy and a medium heavy ballistic in the other slots and go.

The Griffin i fear will be DOA. And the Wolverine, I need to really think on before December, since I fear the missiles have to go, removing the best reason for choosing a 7K. Thing is, without the missiles, it might simply have too little firepower.

It doesn't allow me to vote if I don't vote to everything (Only got the Storm). But I probably will see after playing each variant.

If the Locust 3M has dual AMS it could be it. Because I will be safer from streaks.

M models are superior out of the box because of the upgrades those models have default, which is why they are always the more expensive model to buy with cbills.

M for Marik!

Looks like nobody loves the 2H yet, 2D2 just seems to have more advantage in theory.

I predict the Griffin will become the XL Engine poster mech for generations to come. See now the weapons all being on that side could be a problem, but are they? Are they really? Without that single torso side you're boned. May as well be dead too right? It just seems convenient if you're already most of the way there. Which might afford you some armor, but easily some speed.

Though I have my doubts that might actually work as a sniper if played right. Going to be interesting to see if it works. Really think FASA should have just made the mech left handed. The Round-Facer was actually carrying it's weapon anyway...

yup. I ran the Griffin a lot in TT. And I ALWAYS would swap the missile rack to the LT. Of course, I usually swapped it for a SRM6 and 2 medium lasers too, but ya know.....

''Included battlemechs: 2 Phoenix variants + 4 Standard variants''

Phoenix Locust and Phoenix Shadowhawk + 2 Locust's and 2 Shadowhawks. What was yer point?

EDIT

If you meant I dont get all mechs (Including Thunderbolt and Battlemaster), OFC I dont, I only bought storm!

*Sigh*

The POINT was that you COULD still vote for the ones NOT in your phoenix pack BECAUSE they will still be available in the future for cbills. Hence most people, even without a Phoenix Pack, will probably still get them, and as such, have a preferred variant. Do I need to break it down more?
