I'm trying to get PPC's into the topmost hardpoints on my shiny new Battlemaster. No matter how I fudge it though, after entering a game they always rearrange themselves into the same pattern. This is a balance issue! Hardpoint placement MATTERS TO GAMEPLAY. Fix it!

It doesn't matter what order I place weapons in the mechlab, whether I save mech between steps, whether I save and enter testing grounds between steps, or anything. It just seems to pick hardpoint locations when you enter a game according to an unchanging formula. Odd that you can get different ones in the lab but then it rearranges them for you. Anyone know a workaround?

didnt they say something about UI 2.0 having more control over hardpoints?
something like a MW4 style system? by that i mean you drag and drop into the hard point and that controls its placement while taking the correct ammount of criticals without limiting the critials for the hard point.

I don't remember MW4 having that kind of flexibility as far as placement of the weapons goes. I remember there were times (or glitches) where missiles would fire out of the laser hardpoints and lasers would fire out of the missile racks.

Being able to control what weapon goes in each specific weapon slot however would be amazing.

Pretty much. Without 2.0 we have nothing.

Well this shoots my idea to put PPCs in the shoulder in the foot. Doesn't seem to bother ERLLs though for some reason.

Wait, you wanted to put shoulder PPC's into the feet?

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.

( I am kidding, I know what you meant)

Actually, there is a sort of fix for this.

If you install the last weapon of that type into your mech, then save it, it will stay where you left it.

That means you either have to hide excess inventory on other mechs temporarily, or sell off your extra weapons to make sure that your mech you are currently working on receives the last one.

I.E. If you have 4 PPC's in stock, go put 3 PPC's on your other mechs for the time being, then go back to your mech and put in the PPC you want, Save, and see if that works.

It is a bit wonky and weird, and I have not tried it myself yet. No promises.

doesn't make a whole lot of sense to devote time and resources to buffing an obsolete system on the way to extinction.

It would be akin to spending millions and years improving a house you were planning to bulldoze. Make a lot more sense to put the time and energy into the new house instead, yes?
