The streak locust is hilarious, because it's almost impossible to fit four streak launchers on it with the necessary BAP and enough ammo to be effective for more than a few volleys.

Oh wait, it's a locust, so just bring one ton of ammo. You'll be dead long before you can use it up in the average game.

Yep, still can do it with 3 and bap:

So its very doable without bap and only streaks!

heh or with:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2dc68c65be8125c
could need more ammo!

Or a diff mech! Got that!

I've managed to get my 1V(P) games consistantly around 300 damage and a handful of kills (honest kills are rare, aside from the usual light duels vs bad players). This compared to the 650dmg average on my other lights.

I'm hoping the other two variants are better somehow because there isn't a single redeeming quality on the 1V.

The LCT-3M is by far the best one. Nothing beats the ton/dmg ratio of Medium Lasers. I managed to get some pretty decent damage with it (around 300-500, depending on how long you can stay alive).

The LCT-3S with 4 SRM2s is a blast to play, I'm telling you. For a 20 ton mech, its DPS is quite acceptable (3.65). And it's funny to chain fire the thing against slow assault mechs without AMS, they stumble around wondering why they're getting peppered by streaks without any missile lock warning.

Even with 2 med lasers you can deal plenty dmg. Its not always about pure dps, it is the ability to deal it to a specific target at the right location at the right time.

I don't say the locust exceeds here, but it is something to consider.

The Locust was made for combat environments 100x larger than the maps we play on...

I played each of them for 4-6 matches after the patch last night (without efficiencies.) The 3M averaged a bit over 260 points of damage per match, which was easily around triple compared to what I got out of the other variants. Got more kills than deaths total, maybe I was lucky.

The legs come off in seconds if pretty much anyone decides to focus on you, and streak kintaros are really bad news. It's fun to play nonetheless. B)

I love the locust so far! crazy little fast mech. I had fun trolololol with it last night. I ended one match with 4 kills and like 6 assists in my phoenix locust (4mg + 1 mpls), all from just running around like an ***** shooting out the legs of other locusts and lights.

Worst mech in the game, unfortunately, and everyone knows it.

thats what they said about spider. As a spider pilot from day one, i can assure you thats false, even if every single shot on target at a spider hit.
Im sure there will be guys who will rock the locust,, Invaluable once tonnage limits are imposed.

I did 572 dmg, 4 kills 8 assists without speed tweek or any x2 specs on it yet. Also had multiple games with over 500dmg. So in my book, Locust is as it should be, hits hard n fast and weak and hell.

I was having a lot of fun with the locust last night. It was fun watching many new locust players learn that it isn't a brawler. I didn't get a lot of kills (even with 400+ damage) but that was also strategy. I focused on disabling mechs and leaving them for others to kill.

I saw far too many players running them like Ravens or Jenners (75% heavier) or Spiders (artificially difficult to hit).

That will end real soon. You can only get your head kicked in so many times before you either learn or ditch it for another mech.

With a well placed Arty Strike. :)

The locust has no place in the game currently. But when tonnage limits are implemented, things will change.

Step 1: Run around like chicken with head cut off
Step 2: Get the enemy team all firing on each other and failing to follow you
Step 3: Let your team kill distracted enemy mechs
Step 4: Profit?

Pretty much how I did things on the Commando is how I am going to use the Locust - be a nuisance and let my team take out the trash.
