CPU:
Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Athlon II X2 245e
GPU:
GeForce 8800GT
Radeon HD 5600/5700
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
DirectX: DX9
HDD Space: 4 GB

As most of you know these are the minimum system requirements for MechWarrior Online. Now I know my basics with computers, but me not dat smart like wit dem technical stuffs. I was wondering if anybody on this forum would know if my Radeon HD 4850 would work with this game. My computer is fine with everything else aksed for the minimum requitments, well I think my AMD Athlon™ II X4 620 Processor will work.

What confuses me is with my computer setup I ran Crysis 2 just fine. Both Crysis 2 and MechWarrior Online use Cryengine 3, so I'm confused why I would need a better graphics card to play MechWarrior Online. Thanks for reading and helping me if you can!

its cutting it close, but yes you will likely be able to play it.

If u had a quad I'd say sure, or high graphic card. But you may experience low frame rates with the current setup.

So yes, but may be issues.

Assuming you're running 4 gigs of RAM or more, the processor will be fine. The HD4850 is going to be your achilles heel, so to speak, that's going to limit the settings you can use. Those things really weren't meant for gaming.

Edit- Disregard, I was confusing myself, for some reason I read 4650 instead of 4850....it's late.

Since the 5600/5700 series is the minimum requirements, you come in in decent shape for the minimum requirements.

I think the minimum requirements are for playing the game on average graphic settings. Im sure lesser cards can still run it fine if you drop the settings. In fact, even though my card is on par, I will still lower setting very low because of the FPS, and other... reasons.

same engine vastly different games. the devs havent said if you ran crysis 2 mwo will run flawlessly, only actually running the game once it hits open beta in july will prove that out.

I don't get why the 8800GT would make the minimum requirements and the 4800 doesn't. There's no technical reason for it that I can see and the 8800GT is from an older series.

Yeah, the 4850 is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 8800 GT, so you should be well above the minimum requirements.

yes, the 4850 in almost all benchmarking tests outperformed the 8800GT...the 4850 also came out about 8 months after the 8800GT so it is a newer 512MB card

If your video card isn't quite up to snuff, just make sure you have plenty of RAM and a decent CPU. Both will make a difference where your GPU lacks.
