I think it has been said by the devs that they will ignore some official dates from B Tech history for game improvement. So I say it is time to ditch some timeline in the weapon department.

The available mixes are getting stale. B Tech never had a huge array of weapons, but there are some arrows in the quiver of LosTech and the improvements the IS made from the Grey Death memory core and even captured ClanTech that can be introduced early for more varied game play options.

Rotary 2s, 5s, 10s, and maybe even 20s for a start. Give them a mechanic like the pulse laser so that they spit X shots over a short time. Despite the names of "5", "10" etc perhaps a slight damage bonus for a little extra weight and quicker ammo consumption. Maybe the RAC 5 spits out 3 shots of 2 damage for a total of 6. The RAC 10 spits 5 shots of 2 for 12 total. The RAC 2 spits 3 shots of 1 point.

The Light Guass needs to appear to give snipers a choice other than AC 5s and to fit in slow assaults that don't have the crits in the ballsitic arm for a full gauss. I guess it can keep the same charge up mechanic.

The choices for Missile Slots are paltry as well. Thus we need...

Medium Range Missiles. Works like LRMs with lock and fire. Ranges maybe Min 90, Max 600 or so. Much flatter trajectory and almost as quick as SRMs, with damage between SRMs and LRMs. Intended to be a viable weapon in the 100 to 500 meter engagement range.

Rockets. From our friends in the Periphery, the unguilded fin stablized rocket. Faster than an SRM with better range (maybe 500 meters or so). More per flight for bigger punch per ton than SRMs but have a mechanic where there is a chance that some of them have fin issues and crazy launch away in wierd arcs. Into the sky, the ground, 60 degree to the left, whatever. So it's kinda like the jam chance for an UAC but instead of a jam some of your damage potential rockets off to unintended places.

I like the idea of Mech Morters for indirect fire over a hill - but I can't come up with a good aiming mechanism that isn't over complicated so those can stay on teh sideline for now. And if the Clans must have something "new" they have Heavy Lasers sitting around waiting to be field tested.
