Joysticks, I know some people use hybrids and all kinds of interesting setups, but I will simply use my Joystick.

I'm going to use the Razer Naga Hex and a G13 or N52/Nostromo. After awhile I'll get a joystick if I feel the gameplay works for it. The video's I saw showed WAY too much stability in the crosshairs... this tells me A sensitive pinpoint mouse will do wonders; large swings can be done via the gamepad.

The question to me on G13 vs N52/Nostromo: More keys/better thumbuttons of the G13 versus Scrollwheel of the N52/nostromo.

Plus, I saw some Concept Video showing a highly specialized Razer device coming out? They really need to sell this as components. Sure I'd buy a good stick and throttle, but I run triple eyefinity portrait IPS panels... I don't want some lame monitor Razer built...

I will use the Saitek X52Pro. I'm using it with MW4 and feels very nice even for fine aiming. I do not know the response curve for the MWO though. I could use the x52pro throttle mouse to fine aiming or just play enough to know the feeling of the joystick for precise shooting. I just felt that a HOTAS simply fit to a Mech as glove. I like the twist motion for the joysitck for torso and the hand always on throttle give you a fine tuning and coordination on the speed when you are applying the circle of death. I tested pedals for torso but it did not felt as right as the twist stick.

MW is not like FPS. I play a lot of FPS games and could not play MW4 with a mouse and keyboard. It just not fits. For me anyway.

I've been looking at these speed pads for a while but I'm still on the fence. I'm drawn to the most room because it's inexpensive and has the scroll wheel, which I envision is going to be useful for throttle control, but not sure if it's going to be any better than the keyboard.

Does anyone have any experience using the scroll wheel for throttle?

Do ya'll (yes im a southerner lol) think that Microsoft or any other company should develop an expansive control board that is very similar to if not mirroring the unique and immersive design that was created for Xbox's Steel Batallion?

I think the equipment I have now will probably work.

Nothing fancy but still solid gaming gear:

- MS Sidewinder X3 mouse
- MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard
- Plantronics Gamecom headset
- fUnc surface mousepad

Though it seems a lil basic and I know I will have to manually map the buttons and pray the different axi work correctly but at the moment the best i have is a wired PS3 controller and a Wired Xbox 360 controller. Does anyone think this will work at all or should i be heading to the store getting a joystick/pad?

You won't need more than 8GB but you will need a 64bit OS to take advantage of it.

As tempting as it is for a new toy like a joystick, the practical person in me can not justify the expence for a single game. I am going to spend 60 bucks for the game as it is... I figure that is fair as a new game now days is 60 already. But I am not dropping more for a joystick, much less a joystick and a keypad with a lcd tablit screen for 200+ bucks. /That/ can go and suck it.

The upgrades for my computer were upgrades I was going to spend anyways (Windows 7 and a new Vid card), but that enhances /everything/ on my computer and everything I will get in the future (till I upgrade my motherboard/Processor/RAM).

I have a /old/ force feedback joystick...if I can find an adaptor and it works, great... if not, game was designed for a mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for this post, I have a 52X myself and have been wondering how the support for MWO was going to be. I really prefer the whole piloting feel for MW and was hoping to hear that it was working well with this one. Now I finally have something to use the old joy stick for beside FSX.
