well, its been a few days with the locust,,i know i hammerd it the 1st day,and i was right to do so,for a lot of reasons, i was really ticked off they gave the champion spider locust top speed,,but as i leveld the locust up,i found i was addicted to that 169 speed,,but how to get it into action and actually be useful was a tuff assigment scince i dont cap and play only assults,,
so i stripped mine down and started over,,i have to have beagle in there,,it stacks with ur long range sensors,,now how to pack at least some punch,,,ahhhh,,er long range lasor,,but only 1 with the advance zoom and turned my 1vp and 3m locust both into snipers,,the super speed gets me any where into position on the map quickly and unseen,,i lite the enemy up from 1100 meters for the missile boys,,then i start hammering from long range keeping the enemy well out of thier range and in mine,,had a 900 damage 4 kill game in the locust,,,love the mech, love the speed and now im useful to the team..
this is a good role for the locust,,sniper recon...let the main force know where the enemy is,,then get down to business,,scince i perfected this set up i dont get legged every game or hardly at all as i am well away from enemy units and in ambush,,i operate mostly behind enemy lines,,and if i choose to go into close quarter,,and sometimes i have to help out in the middle of the fight,,it is my choice,,at tourmaline i was last man standing and waged a total gorilla warfare and took 2 more out when time ended.just about untouchable hit and run operation,,they got the cap but dident get my locust,
bottom line,,if ur really intelligent cunning, tactical player,,the locust sniper set up will give you many awesome games, and any one playing the locust no matter what level commands respect..it truely is a tuff mech to do well in the i have to kill every one in 1 shot builds,,
they shud of gave 1 variant jump jets and the missile locust ecm,any way back to the battelfield, and hats off to all locust pilots,,great mech

I run a similar build on my 1v(p), but use it as a scout/ skirmisher. i run a180xl, ferro, endo, DHS, a large laser and 2 machine guns. I scout ahead, call locations and then wait for the engagement to start, then I do Strafing runs. I treat the locust like an aircraft, straight line runs hitting everything in a line, and then tight turns to come back again. I do really well this way. I can't take on spider yet, (still havent basiced my -p) but I'm getting better every match. I can even distract and tangle with other lights... I'm no match fro a jenner, but can keep them occupied while my forces knock out their bigger brethren.

I liked you ever since I spectated you in your Ravens with 2xER LL and Advanced Zoom. You are a pretty good shot.

Just in case you haven't read it yet, have a look at this thread http://mwomercs.com/...ider-or-locust/ I posed the question Spider or Locust; the results are quite conclusive so far.
The only difference between our approaches is that you have gone for a Sniper role as well as Recon, while I have gone for Primary Recon and a limited support capability. At the moment I still do this with a Spider 5K; what attracts me to the Locust is it's sheer speed which will only get quicker when we get MASC http://www.google.co....54934254,d.d2k
