Eons ago, in the days of 8 mans and before ghost heat, I was playing a boomjager, and I got dropped in a team with seven lights. The other team was six lights and a couple cicadas (which I tend to think of as lights) running around in pairs. I don't know what alignment of the planets or whatever was affecting my aim that day, but every salvo I fired either legged or killed an enemy mech. I can't remember how many kills I got, but it was most of them, and it was hilarious. Lights were popping like zits.

my best was 6 i only really remember it because it was in a BJ-3 with a generic 6ML setup on alpine. kept bouncing from trouble spot to trouble spot and by the time i'd get there it seemed like one or two alphas was killingstuff. think i had 600ish damage that game.

think i got 5 with a KTO 18 and a hunchy 4sp once each.

usually 2-3 i consider a very good game for me, anything beyond that was probably an accident.

If you installed MWO into the default folder, it should go C drive>Program Files>Piranha Games>MechWarrior Online>USER>ScreenShots

If you want to post the image here, you have to upload the picture someplace (photobucket, facebook, whatever), and then when you post click the image icon over the text box (it's a greenish rectangle below and to the right of the smiley icon) and insert the the location of the image (e.g., photobucket.com/albums/xxx/BlueCorsair/MWO/crazygood.jpg).

I got 7 today, with 1076 damage. I've been owning in Storm King, my Jager.

Six (6). River City Night. Catapult K2, 2 AC/5s with four tons ammo, two Large Lasers, double heat sinks, almost full armor, one Medium Laser.

We got ourselves together into a murder ball and lost three out of the gate, plus a disconnect. We were in the lower city portion near our base and I got pissed with being packed into the crowd, so I knocked a Catapult out, then went closer to the east hill and dropped a Jenner, clean, that was trying to cap in the middle of all that hell, then toward the ship and killed an already beaten up Victor, followed by legging a Raven, unintentionally, and then killing it, though it already had some damage on it so it wasn't a clean kill. Then, I turned back into the soup about midway down the dock toward the water, south-bound, and dropped another light, I think it was a second Raven, clean, it was all mine, and then I headed out to the water and head-shotted, also by accident, a Dragon; I'm not sure whether that was a clean kill or not. I was dropping into the water near the mid-town bridge and turned/looked left just as the Dragon pilot took aim to fire at me, and I got to it, first, pure luck on that shot.

I loved that game.

ive gotten 11 but it was in an AC 40 firebrand so that prolly doesnt count

In 8v8 I had 3 kills with 5 assists from 500+ damage in a Raven 4X 2xMPLs and LRM10.

In 12v12 I had 5 kills 7 assists from 800+ damage in a Jagger A 4xLRM15's, one MLs and TAG.
I did have two PUG ravens with TAG working with me since the rest of the team charged into the face of the enemy. The ravens both had 3 kills. It was the first time I boated that mech and braved the ghost heat, and it was fun. The hard part was constantly backing up and controlling the heat while being charged.

I've had 11 but its a fluke.

Kills should never be rewarded, as they're often just a measure of how fast a pilot and swoop over and steal the killshot after the big boys have done all the work.

I look much harder at damage done. My max being in the 1300 range a long time ago.

In other words: if you have a high kill count in a match and anything under 700 damage I know you didn't earn it. Thank your team.

To bad the kills in game have no meaning. Anyone can run by and get a killshot and not put any effort into breaking down the armor. All based on luck. Even the personal stats are greatly flawed. The only ones of value are weapon accuracy and damage dealt with your chosen weapons.

P.s: 7 out of 12 in a Jenner, 5 out of 12 in a Commando ... a friend o´ mine did down all 8 out of 8 in earlier times (and though I have no proof of it(deleted by HDD-death), I know that I once killed 11 out of 12 with a Highlander).

Or you are in a pinpoint damage build... ie: dual gauss jager and drill CTs like it's nobody's business.

Not to mention I consider it the main job of a light mech to pick off wounded mechs as they are the only ones that can penetrate, kill the wounded mech, and escape before the entire enemy team bears down on you. So next time you see a Jenner or raven with 500 damage and 6+ kills, don't think he stole kills. Thank him for saving you from potential damage down the road, and finishing that mech off for you whom you don't have a LoF on anymore because he ran back behind his buddies.

Damage is a good indicator of how well you've done in a match... but it can also be an indicator of how poor you've done... I've had some really high damage matches where my aim was so off all I could do was destroy arms of shadow hawks and cicadas. I've had people say "Hey 1k damage, nice run"... and I will be thinking "too bad I only had 1 kill and 3 assists and we lost"

Kills are just as bad an indicator because like you say... sometimes you get gifted a kill... and other times you're the one doing the gifting.

The only real measure of skill is one's win/loss ratio, but even that is skewed by Pugging and dropping with a 4-man on TS, and a matchmaker that seems hell bent on keeping your W/L as close to 1:1 as it can manage

On topic, the most I've ever killed in a single match is 7, but I've done this a lot, along with 6 kills.

9 Kills. That's the highest I've ever gotten. I ran out of all 3 tons of MG ammo on that guy, and still had to keep fighting!
