We need to make thinsg a bit more tactical on the battle field. Thus I call for the Smoke Field module.
 
Maybe three shots per game. Aim like artillery but get an area of smoke dropped down for a little while. Improved Version is bigger and longer. Advanced Version blocks Thermal mode.
 
Scouts will love using a smoke screen to get away while units that need to charge a gap may with to lay smoke before going through.
 
The other possibility is an Active Counter Measures pod. Maybe one use or a few. A big burst of foil and electronic static that breaks current locks for maybe 3 to 5 seconds. A downside perhaps that you show up as an untargeted radar contact to anyone within 2000 meters as the static announces your general position. Yes, this makes LRMs (and MRMs) a bit less useful - but gives you a reason not to fire all your missiles in one big salvo and make them guess if they should blow their ACM pod or not.
