ON1-VA
I'm fairly new to this particular mech, so I was curious to know what advice anyone could give. I have this variant and the ON1-K ... Builds for either mech would be nice. I prefer to brawl or stick mid range. I am not a sniper fan, to be honest. That being said, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love the VA. I run mine as a streak boat with BAP, an AC/20, and MLs. It murders lights, and is reasonably effective against larger mechs too.

Looks nice. 2xLL+AC10+whatever works well on any Orion. Keep your distance, treat the missiles as backup. I would suggest moving some armor to the front of your torso. Some people go as low as 10 on the back, below 20 for sure. Note that you can take the same basic build and swap the SRMs for LRM5s, creating the LRM boat that could.

I can't really think of any changes to make that would actually make this mech better. I mean, I run something similar on the 1-V, but if you're sticking to the 1-VA, I think you've hit it pretty well.

I run it as a 30-50 LRM boat depending on my mood
The Pain Train is very effective LRM support and seems quite adept at killing Atlai, Firebrands, Awesomes, Dragons and Victors. Dunno why, but that's who seem to die the most to this critter.

I want to say that it needs BAP to go with those streaks - but it would cost you ferro fibrous armor so that you'd have to go with a smaller engine. *shrug* Maybe not worth it.
