Using a Heavy Metal (XL engine)
Fresh to combat
Engine destroyed
  • LBX
  • UAC5
  • Medium laser
Some of my front armour, had minimal damage, rear armour untouched. Presumably critical hit by the LBX.
Impression from studying the image on the death report was that it was centre torso, because the outer front centre armour panel was slightly yellowed, but the inner area, where internal damage is shown, when the armour is removed appeared darker/absent).

I was unable to save a screen shot.

Or paper doll did not update properly.
Maybe the whole Alpha got your rear side torso and you died with the paper doll not updated.

Had did of a head shot before when it seemed i still had armour in my head before.

There is a very small chance to crit even though you have armor as in the table top game. Think you just got incredibly unlucky.

There is no armor bleed or any sort of armor bypassing in MWO, there are issues with the paper doll not updating due to dropped packets though which may make it appear that way sometimes.

Its also possible there could be a bug with damage like the ~1% chance for ballistics to simply not register damage on a hit, could be similar issue where it registers against internal instead of armor.

Forest colony, where some enemy had entered from the tunnel and others had arrived at the mouth of the adjacent channel/ravine, too the open area with crates etc… I arrived late from the other channel ravine (many of my side already there and engaged) and fired on one enemy mech at the mouth of the other channel with my back against the ravine/wall. This mech turned and opened up with the LBX and med lasers, together with another next to it using a ultra. And to by disbelief I went instantly from no damage to dead.
