its how they generate site traffic
the MWO website has over 1,000,000 logons* a month, We're "POPULAR"
*logon data is based on non-unique log-ins along with unique accounts

Happens to me quite a bit, too, but I've never lost a post to it. Does make me wonder at times what causes these mysterious log-outs, though, as sometimes I can leave a tab open to a forum page and it'll keep me logged in for over 24 hours without any activity, other times I can be active on multiple tabs all on the website and it'll kick me less than five minutes after my most recent page-load.
Stunningly easy workaround to this...
When you've been auto-logged-out and you click post, the post doesn't actually post and the edit box remains, complete with everything you've typed so far.
DO NOT leave the page on which you are doing the edit
Open any mwomercs.com link in a new tab
Click log in
Log back in
Switch back to the tab where you were typing your post
Click post and watch it post as you intended, nothing lost bar a few seconds!
Pro Tip: Always keep a spare tab open to the front page (or any other page for that matter) so you can simply refresh it and hit log in when this happens.
