I hope this story helps anyone that things they will always suck.. and how low scores make you a bad player... just so not the case.. all it means is you had a bad game.

here is a night i had..... A HBK-4sp, 5ML, bap, and dual streaks with a 250 std... (btw my new favorite mech)

this drop, i have no idea what i did... other than get some cheap shots on some mechs... see, even peiople that know what they are doing still can suck big time!

Later that night i had my best match ever..... I beat my best score... previous was around 500... this match i scouted and found a catapult, and something else, i forget.. me and another flanked on alpine on the right side of the map and snuck around to the lower base...

we brawled um, and took um both down. (both ranged mechs, with no short range support). I ran around a corner, blasted, got them to chase me... and then took advantage when they engaged the others that followed... I think i grabbed a kill on one

a huge battle had taken place somewhere near the middle, and almost everyone dropped..

i helped pick down some other mechs that got lost in the middle, and engaged my friends. I grabbed a kill on some floater as the last ones on my side dropped. they where closing in on our base... By that time there was only one enemy mech, and a spider on our team that lead a victor back to their base.. the spider had been capping the whole time.. he kept drawing them back, though he kept running out, and spotting, and telling people where others where... But by this time, and how the game was going, decided to just cap.

Time was ticking down and only a few mins remained, as the victor made it back to their base. the spider took off his back armor, but was killed in the process. The Victor called out.... COME OUT YOU COWARD!!!! There was only 1:45 left at this point.

I was already running back to their base.. I sort of knew where he was, as he actually never left the base... (had i known this i would of flanked harder, but then again i might of run out of time)

Instead i took a direct root from the upper base/tower area,, and ran direcly to the middle of the base and ridge area... making sure if he had ran i would of seen him run right or left.... instead he mostly hung at base just in that valley right outside the base.... he was just to theleft of dead center. As i crested that hill just before i caught a glimpse of him, and i know he saw me too, as he twisted towards me and fired off a few shots... (missing) We where both pretty well off on armor, weapons,, really barely dinged up...

I in my medium, and he in his Heavy (that is what a victor is right??).. I crested the hill and spotted him. I clicked R and hit lock, and started blasting with 5 ML... 2 shots before he could really tell where i was.. my lock hit, and i fired blasting him with streaks..

I rounded the hill, my streaks still locked and blasted agian, along with another pulse of 5 MLs. Blast!! another round of dual steaks.. He wanted to ride that hump on the ridge... and that was just perfect for me.. I would rise above the ridge, and blast.. then drop down bellow,, so he could not fire while i recharged... I still had lock so i would blast with streaks right as i started down, and as i would crest back up...

We circle straffed for almost a minute. I used the Twist tips that people told me on the boards... When waiting for recharge, show him your arms they said!, so that is what i did... Blast, blast, blast...!! both arms were glowiing red, my back, and front going yellow.. I was losing armor big time being very out classes.. But i kept on plugging...

I laser him up and down.. melting his armor, and finally one last crest of the hill and a blast of streaks.. his armor was gone.... As he tried to straf by me, i blasted one last time with 5 ML's, and took him down....

I screamed over team chat... HELL YA!!!! and got a few great jobs... Even the other team said a few nice things, like Hella brawl... and the guy that taunted me, said, great brawl.. and GG..

I responded in kind, as i know he was just teasing when he said that earlier... I mean come on.. why not taunt with 1 min left on alpine and no one in site...

This in no way is a brag post.. because come on.. who knows how good these guys really are... But honestly i had fought them i think 4-5 times over the last few hours.. they had won most of the matches, some how always where on the other team..

that to me is what mech warrior is... out of the 100's of games.. if you get one or two great ones.. that was a wonderful night, and worth all the bad... I now have reason to grind my next mech.. cause just wait till i get a brawler!!!!

Dude seriously that is a wonderful performance, and shows exactly how important even the smallest tips are.

Also the Victor is an assault my friend. One that weights almost twice your hunchie's weight.

Good on you, and that's a good example of what can happen with practice and a few good tips. Good on you, and I wish you luck on the battlefield.

People should seriously stop posting these threads. I mean it makes the lives of some people seriously more annoying if they only want to come to the forums and complain, gripe and moan... and then they see threads like this... Can you really face yourself knowing you are causing them to doubt their views?

But its great to see others enjoy the game as well. I may not be quite as ecstatic as I used to be when I first played. but Im definitely a long way away from only seeing the worst of the game and how everything is a lie and terrible.

All I can say to these people is, find a unit where you have members you enjoy communicating and playing with, find a different game and take a break every now and then so that you can get some much needed space between yourselves and PGI/MWO.

As for new players. The best thing you can do is look for a public voice com server (There are quite a few MWO related ones listed in these forums to choose from which encompass just about every timezone), add yourself to a random group and play together with them. If they turn out to be jerks or just plain not your type of people, look for a different group/server untill you find the right ones. Also dont be afraid of peoples with those omnious tags infront of their names, join their channels as well and ask if they would be OK if you joined their game group. There is no need to join any clan/merc unit/house unit until you know what you are getting yourself into and are joining out of your own will/wants. After that it will only go uphill with the game experience if it is the right group.

Lol Rushin,

However, that is good advice. Getting a buffer game does help. Every now and then I do feel like I'm overloading on MW:O and need a break.

Also, JC, if you ever want a drop partner, just hit me up. Either by PMing me here, or on the client.

some my best most memorable games have been low scores and some fairly mundane ones high scoring...

depends maybe on perception and why you play...

Absolutely, you have a condition. Have you tried playing Warthunder?

With the latest patch they hit the same level of drama that we did when 3PV hit the game.
