Im not sure why this exists but why do smaller engines require extra heat sinks?

From a logic point of view, why does an engine half the size of a 260, need the same amount of heat dissipation?

Is it the same mass and size, thus putting the same amount of heat out to run?

Of course not. This mechanic does nothing but gimp lights.

What's the logic/reasoning behind needing 10 heatsinks base if all engines already have internal heatsinks to cool them off under operation? It makes no sense to me and I cannot adequately explain how ridiculous this is.

Enlighten me?

For the same reason you can't remove your left arm to save weight on any mech that has no weapon hard points on that arm.

It's a baseline rule in the Mech construction system they chose to use.

The fluff reason is because the smaller engines can't fit at all 10 heat sinks inside, so they take up external crit slots.
