On the day when the locust was released, I got the Locust-3M and was hoping to have an awesome experience with it. Even though I was lacking in c-bills to reduce weight and improve armor, I decided to have a test run for the feels.

The first map with locust was in frozen city, where laser weapons don't raise much issues. I was imagining how fast i would go and shoot endlessly and make it difficult for enemies to target me. When both sides marched up to the middle of the map, I knew that it was my time to run in and distract my enemies, FULL THROTTLE! UP THE HILL! and then...BAM! my mech explodes by a single shot, rolls up like a dead bug, and rolls down the hill... ;)

My team accidentally made a clean shot with AC/10 to my locust's rear center torso, ending my first test run without me firing a single shot.

He's like, "Oops~ my bad~"

I painfully realized that day, that the lighter I get, the more likely for me to die in vain if i'm not careful enough.

Welcome to my world!!! ;)

On a positive note, the more you pilot Lights, the better pilot you become. Sure you can't duck and dodge in an Assault, but you can torso twist and stick near cover etc.

Ahh, yeah, I'm gonna be keeping my 3m in the hangar until I can get that XL in it and drop some weight. With locusts you gotta be real careful to not get shot in the back; in my experience with 'em it's up to you to be careful, not your teammates. I've had people do all sorts of crazy {Scrap} to my locust. While we were running around on the base with a bunch of guys on the River City map, my teammates trampled out 10% of my hp. While killing some DC players with a few people, I've had a Catapult move directly in front of me while I'm shooting one of them, actually walking his core directly into my medium laser fire (not sure how he did that with me even in teamspeak with him, but he did). It's your un-notability that is your greatest asset against enemies, but you gotta be more careful than your teammates not to get shot or stomped by them while in a locust.

Don't worry, Locusts that do manage to actually make it over that hill tend to pop in incredibly short time spans. The first match I saw a Cicada, he made it halfway down the hill on Caustic before he lost both legs and his CT.
