I would put the Medium Laser more backwards to get a Locust that is not to similiar with the unseen version.

Well, he wants to make the original "unseen" Locust, not redesign it. ;)

I use TrueSpace. v7.6 is free to use though no longer updated. Microsoft bought the program from Caligari then stopped development a few years ago. If you want to get into 3D with an open source program, I'd suggest something like Sketchup or Blender 3D.

I was mentored in doing 3D modeling back in 1998. No professional schooling or anything like that. From there it's mostly self taught.

Personally I'd go with a free program and a lot of tutorials before entering a Faustian deal. *grins*

Hah! Well put! Plus I highly doubt a trio of witches is going to save my butt from a Faustian deal gone wrong, so I think I will take your advice and not go that route.

And maybe the Turret more edged... it looks somehow strange :D

Interesting idea, but unfortunately it won't really fit with what I'm doing. Check the images below to see what I mean.

Partially true. It'll be recognizable as a Locust, but it won't be completely like the original.

I got more done than I thought I would. Love having free day to just go along with my artistic mojo.

Added armor plates and surface details. Access panels, hatches, sensors, and different antennae. A friend suggested I add forward lights so I placed a spotlight under the chin turret. I cheated a little and took the lower hip section off of my Cataplult K2 model (seen in miniature in my sig) as a placeholder. I'll probably modify that later. And as an extra detail, I made a winch and stirrup for the pilot to ascend and descend.

Not much for now. Completely redid the rear torso and added some details to the underside. I think I'll redesign the hip from that ball joint that's there now and start on the legs.

Hmm, that would be an LRM 15 shoulder mount pod... Sooo... Timber wolf, or something similar like a catapult. I would love to see that. XD

I'm thinking of showing some FRR love with a texture map. Specifically the 3rd Drakon paint scheme. Though it is a bit close to the WoB paint scheme that I've done before.
