mmmm. tempting. but i like my AMS, even if it doesnt stop all the missiles, it usually stops enough of them to matter, and the loss of heatsinks is no bueno.

but still REALLY tempting

If you aim for Brawling only you're doing it wrong.
The only thing (MOST) brawlers (NOT ALL) do constantly and with great success ist blocking LOS to their team, sucking friendly fire and setting smoke signals, when beeing hammered by the enemys team long range fire support.
Delivering fast raids and accurate, pinpoint and well timed close combat support to your Team is one of the most difficult tasks you can take in this game. Its totaly not to be advised for new players.
If you get sucked in a cicle fight you will most likely get a lot of friendly fire, either from medium range direct firing units of your own team or from your missle boats.
Getting realy close with the enemy may be thrilling and may get you a single kill but remember that only a living mech is support to your team.

Long story short: Dont take a build like that above into a pug without a friend on TS or Mumble covering your back.

My favorite brawler Orion so far:

If it has to be a K, then something like this :

PS: Your LBX build looks like fun. If you are up close and personal, then regular SRM4s are better than SSRM2s just because they are easy to hit when you are up in peoples faces.
