Just some ideas I'm throwing out there. Does not mean we'll get the Thug or that I am demanding we get it.

Variants:
11E -- DHS, 2x Energy, 4x Missile, AMS, ES
12K -- ECM, 2x Energy, 2x Missile, AMS, JJ <---- The important one to differentiate it from the Awesome.
13K -- DHS, 4x Energy, 2x Missile, AMS

Just trying to strike a balance with what I read on Sarna.net. Since it's an assault, may want to increase the hardpoints, but should be equally....

Thug brings nothing new to the table, it's an Awesome basically. It looks pretty cool, but it's just kind of bland IMO.Pleanty of other mechs I'd rather see. ECM and jets would be nice looking at your loadouts, but I'm just not convineced. Rather see a more likely mech like a Zeus or a Banshee, or a Hatamoto Chi.

been portrayed as both, but the more "canon" art is walker style.

I disagree.

It could very well bring decent survivable hit boxes. That alone, besides stunning good looks, is a pretty good reason.

And as I said in my OP, I already covered your misgivings. This wasn't about that, this was just speculation....

Its got the looks that raises my curiosity as to how Alex would give it the MWO touch, but really bland loadouts like Quickdraw-bland. : /

As I said, it can look great, but there are other assaults in the era that deserve to live in game more IMO.
The Banshee especially would be a fun ride, and give the Atlas more competition at the high end of tonnage.

I reject your Hatamoto, since even with the slightly differing variants, it's just a cheap knockoff of the Thug built on a Charger chassis, anyhow. Until it's parents live, your Samurai Gundam Peen replacement can stay in mothballs. :)

Sheesh. Dracs and their image issues....... :P

Thug is not a bad mech, but it is up there with the King Crab, Mauler, Devastator, and Thunderhawk as interesting mechs to add. Problem is, many of those simply do not have enough variety in their variants to warrant it. Either not enough hardpoint variation or they simply do not have 3 available variants.

Hey, I also offered TWO(2) Lyran favorites. There are so many variants on the Hatamoto that it' can fit almost anyone's role however. I'm not playing favorites here, just think that mechs in use at the time should get first choice. Oddly enough, the Charger could probably be put to good use in this game also for that matter.

someone please tell that to the Victor. Or the Kintaro, or even Jagermech, all of which magically sprouted enough differences.

Just sayin'

and yet we already got the Flea, Highlander the rare at the best of times Atlas (Iconic though, so needed), Catapults which are almost extinct outside the CC, Spiders which have never existed in noticeable numbers, etc.

Mind you, I would like to see the common mech sof the era too, for a first time since MW2 Mercs, but it´s hardly the pattern set here, ya know?

And what's up with renaming the Crockett as the "Katana"?!?!?! Insecure much? :)

That's not a good reason at all.

The Awesome needs to have its hitboxes and scale fixed, such that they aren't terrible any more. Adding another mech to try and sidestep that issue is absurd.

It has both-sided legs like the Stalker... depends entirely on the artist.

For instance, here's the latest official picture of one:

A chicken-walker, again. Besides, humanoid chicken-walkers are pretty cool. :)

P.S. Avoid looking at the cockpit, it will mess with your head, having you think about how could he possible see what's in front of him.

expecting PGI to change course and fix the Awesome a year and a half later is more so.
