I expect the lights to be among the first to be given this treatment since hitboxes affect them the most as a class than other mechs on a specific basis.
There are multitudes of videos on Youtube demonstrating the Spider's issues and trust me, the Dev's KNOW they're broken. It's just on the backburner right now because of how far behind they are on the game which is exacerbated by them now being a fully fledged game.They literally cannot afford to screw up anymore.
TLDR: Patiance. They know. Just deal with it for now.

1 out of 20 games I might get lucky with a leg shot , but that's about it , I hit them all the time , it just does no damage , or very little damage

SPIDERS ARE BROKEN.
I read a post about weapon convergence (with the background) and lag and I am guess it has something to do with this. Make spretty much perfect sense when you read it.
And also I dont have a problem with lights in general, I can hit all the other ones just fine, its only the spider.

God help you if you try and peg them with SRMs, you already roll the dice on SRMs actually registering anyway. Hit a spider running straight at me with 3 SRM-6s from my Shadow Hawk, he went from 95% to 91%. From 36 damage, even if it is spread out. I think a lot of light pilots are in for a rude awakening when they can't speed tank 4+ enemies for upwards of a minute once HSR and hitboxes get fixed.

Spiders are damn annoying and everywhere because of this bug they have. Hit them and see nothing happening. Putting 4 x ER Large Laser into one, no problem only a scratch..and so on. When a Spider does not get damaged from point blank range shot in the face then something is wrong. I understand the ping, HSR and whatever. But Spider is the only light I have problems with. Until anything is done just have to grind teeth and hope some day hitboxes, HSR and whatnot get fixed..

PGI has an entry in known issues about hit detection with ballistic weapons.

It'll be great, well until some po-dunk, in the sticks with a network connection from the late 70's tries to play and complains about people exploiting.

but nearly every single god dam game , spiders on each team , buttrape the other team , and its going on every game

And no, you don't see games where Spiders solo the entire enemy game. Unless you're playing at a level where it doesn't matter what you pilot.

this does bring up a good point, what about the people who allready have spiders that they love and dont use it as a FOTM/FOTY ( i use the spider because i love it, it does help that its hard to kill) i would hate pgi if they took away my primary mech because some neckbeards online cry about getting owned by a light mech.

Side torso registers just fine when tested so I don't know about this. There is a major issue with CT hit registration on the spider, and even if hit reg was working the legs would be very difficult to hit due to being very small.
I think PGI should consider artificially enlarging the leg hitboxes the way they did with ravens until the CT hit reg is fixed, not remove them from the game as this hurts too many players and there are not enough lights in game as it is.
