So, most people know, I'm NOT a huge Dark Age fan. Some of the fiction is decent, but it's just too spotty and lacks the sweeping feel of Classic Battletech. Game mechanics balance have largely been broken since Operation Revival, so that doesn't help, either, IMO.

And it's generally not helped that it's pretty blatantly obvious every combat scenario in the books was set up to follow the basic ruleset for a MW:DA Clix battle, meaning, not terribly exciting.

That said, met Randall Bills at the MW:O Launch, and liked the art in the new 3145 TRO enough overall to buy it, and get it signed, and to start modifying things. The first one is this:

Which is a Manned version of the UBM-1A Drone from the TRO, where a compact cockpit and a Quad turret were added. I actually added fluff based around a salvage and engineering firm, that had cleaned up the battlefields of the Jihad, and found themselves with dozens, if not hundreds of these, but none of the tech to really fix them as drones. So they got intrepid, and yanked out the drone control units, and outfitted them with Compact Cockpits, basically building about 50-60 completed units out of the salvage. Selling those allowed them to draw a lot of attention, and some investors, and they refurbished an old Mech Factory on Solaris, where the new factory models are being built.

Could we get a picture of these bad boys(a few of them) fighting a larger mech?

Poor lil guy gonna feel REAL spindly sidling up next to a Stalker or Atlas, lol. Figure he ain't much bigger n a Locust what with the extra legs n all. The Cockpit... to say it's cramped is an understatement. But I might work on that, or at least add some mechs to the background and some weapons fire. Hmmm.

Wow, assuming those MGs are to scale, the mechwarrior would have to be shoehorned into the cockpit with the aid of some very enthusiastic astechs. Still love this thing and it would be a great if tasked with supporting foot infantry in a role similar to the Flea.

3145 has gundams.

this is an agrotera.

on a side note, i actually approve to the combined arms thing over pure battlemechs. vehicles are cheaper and easier to produce. therefore they should be more common.

Now that I've seen that I just can't let it not be made, now can I?

This is why I like to come to the forums here. I get all these ideas to build. Too bad I can't do it in game. Wouldn't that be awesome? A stand alone 'Mech generator/creator? I'd buy it.

2 things

1) Compact Cockpit means one is shoehorned in
2) You assume the canopy is the cockpit. That is just the view port. The whole structure around the window is the actual cockpit, and it clamshells open for ingress/egress. That said, it makes the Stinger feel spacious.
