Benny Hill Walk?

Now, I've been away a few months. I have a poor memory at the best of times.

I come back, climb into my Cat-C1, fire up the engine and... OMG the walk!

The cockpit is going up and down so fast it's like sitting on a washing machine.

Gone is the BOOM... BOOM... BOOM... of those big metal feet to be replaced with donkdonkdonkdonkdonkdonk like a 3 year old kid racing up the stairs for the toilet.

I look at my team mates to check I'm not imagining it: Nope, that Stalker looks like Benny Hill. And there goes the topless posse after him.

WTF have they done to the walk speed animation?

Is it just a rose-tinted memory or have they changed the long, slow, loping, stompy strides of these giant death machines to simulate an angry geisha running for a bus?

Please tell me that somewhere they've posted an apology and a plan to undo this. I've looked but no-one else seems to have noticed (which is why I suspect it was always terrible but I remember it being good because I SO wanted to like this game. Did indeed like this game very much until my few-month-break).

If I'd wanted that kind of mech game I'd be playing The Other Mech Game, wouldn't I? (Hint, tried it during closed beta, didn't like it for exactly the reason I now don't like MWO much).

This was a change in a patch months ago. I've gotten used to it, but the "unfixed" version was a lot more acceptable than the one we have now.

Not a big deal compared to the absolutely incredible job Alex and his team did reinvisioning BT mechs. Still, this is something that should be fixed in a future pass. Is this the reason why you dont play? lol

Yup. I don't play any more because it used to be an almost perfect version of what I think a Mechwarrior game should be, and now isn't [Edit: It felt right. Now it feels horrible].

I have other games that are closer to what I want them to be, so I play them.

I don't have a bottomless well of time, so if it annoys me in the slightest (like most PvPshooters tend to do), I don't play it.

I'll come back when it's fixed.

Thanks for the responses, I'm glad to have it confirmed that I wasn't imagining it.

One of the reasons I dont play as often. If at all. It has lost that Mech sim feel for me overall. From reduced graphics to the sped up mechs which changes gameplay. I dont feel like Im in a huge beast of a mech like It felt back in closed beta. Its more like a Humanoid FPS. Im very disappointed in PGI making these changes. Why they took this route is beyond me. To capture a larger audience? Makes no sense in taking the essence of Mechwarrior out of the game.
