Gauss would not exist at the time, but an AC/10 could have worked perhaps?

not with PPCs it wouldn't. That's 4 extra tons needed. Might work if you downgrade the PPC to large lasers, but then it's pure midrange.

Maybe we can get rid of a few tons of armor and install a smaller engine? Aren't you always complaining that the Shimmering Sword Marauder looked too bulky - maybe with paper-thin armor, he'd agree? :P

Marauder already carries 3 tons less armor than maximum for it's size. And TT you can't just shave a few tons off, you have to drop a full order of Engine size, so you go from 64 kph to 54 kph. Too slow, IMO, for a heavy. Until level 2 tech arrives, it is just limited. (heck it already has nowhere near enough heatsinks)

also, 1 ton ac10 ammo is not enough, so you need 1 more ton there.

Very nice work.. but ingame i thought it wouldnt work.. its entire CT is one big cockpit XD

BTW.

The marauder never had its cockpit in the front of its snout, that was a fake, it actually was located on its "back"

actaully,. the dorsal hatch was it's ingress, not the cockpit. The forward viewscreen was indeed it's "windshield" and it qwas even noted in the TRO for it's poor field of view. Ther ewere no fake cockpits in battltech.

Cyclops says otherwise Bish, read the 3025 tro, it mentions something about it having a fake head and pilots strapping some armor onto it to increase that perception.

(taken from TRO 3025)
Though the Cyclops' head section is armored as heavily as its internal structure can handle, the armor is somewhat inadequate. In battle situations, most enemy 'Mechs will automatically aim at the head of the Cyclops, knowing any hits or near misses could damage or disable the sophisticated command and control equipment located there, as well as doing the usual damage to the MechWarrior inside.
Many pilots also provide their Cyclops with false armor head protectors, which gives them the appearance of wearing a helmet. The rationale is that incoming missile and autocannon fire will explode against the false armor instead of the actual head armor. This is, at best, a poor solution to the problem.

Not a fake head, not a fake cockpit, but fake armor baffles giving the appearance of the real head wearing a helmet.

Depends which time you're talking but I thought the 5S was around for the invasion so it would fit in with MWO at least.
