OK, i don't know about you guys but i found the medallion selection very confusing. I was worried about being able to do missions for all the factions. then it was pointed out in a post that you should pick all 4 of the same for the CW release that will allow you to ready up 4 mechs. Now im sitting on 3 medallions that will do absolute F*ing nothing. I am not happy about this... and i was told by PGI that they won't reset them and that they are permanent. SO: here is the response i got:

There are TWO mentions of the medallions in the FAQ,



#1: Q: Will the entire collection of items in each package (ie - Mechs, Badges, Medallions etc) be delivered all on the same date or will different items be provided at different dates?

A: All package contents will be delivered on Oct 15th.


#2: Q:If my Phoenix Package comes with multiple Faction Medallions, Is it possible to choose the same medallion more than once?

A: Yes. You can make your selections here


There is nothing about it being PERMANENT, and again there is NO info on whether its better to pick multiple factions or one faction all of the same... SO... AGAIN.... PLEASE RESET MY MEDALLIONS... it can't be much different than reseting an order or refunding. I haven't even done anything with them... i only have one in one of my mechs... I give you permission to get into my account and fix it... I am going to be very, very upset if my $80 purchase is ruined because YOU PEOPLE didn't explain the package properly... and i will make sure to scream it very, very loudly in any form that i can... if you don't have a way to fix this then you need to make one. because i can already guarantee you that a lot of my faction is wanting to change the selection... we looked all over the forum for OFFICIAL INFO but none was found... so we thought it would be better to have 4 different ones because we would be doing different missions. Then it was pointed out the day i sent this request to choose all 4 the same because of the part you are adding in CW for readying up 4 mechs... So..... all that being said... Please figure out a way to fix this... i don't want to be stuck with faction medallions that i will never use because YOU PEOPLE didn't explain it properly...

no offense but the 3 or 4 warnings posted about these of "decision is final choose wisely" shoulda been enough. You can easily just switch the medallion between mechs and now you have loyalty bonuses for 3 other factions if you ever decide to max those out as a merc and for wolf's dragoons

we knew the decision was final but the fact that there was no explanation on what the benefit of selecting all of one or 4 of different warrants at least ONE reset...

There is some false advertising to this... The medallions show them as full color... Now I have ugly bronze ones that point toward silver and gold ones available for MC later on (my speculation)...

I got the kurita medallion because I thought it was going to be red.. Even in the selection screen it showed them as full color...

I want a reset and I want to choose full color versions..

We don't even know for sure how CW is going to work. You're assuming that one rumor you've heard is better than another rumor. There hasn't been a whole lot of info on exactly how CW is going to work so why are you getting in such a tizzy over something that may or may not come to pass? It may turn out that the way you picked your medallions will be the most advantageous.

But at least you're quick to blame other people for your decisions. Why wouldn't you think the selections were permanent?

I can't stand people like the OP who don't do any research of their own, make hasty and uninformed decisions and blame other people for not explaining things clearly enough for them. But don't worry, they'll be sure to scream very, very loudly to anyone who will listen.

of course the picks were permanent! it says they are. you're just angry you cant min/max now.

i on the other hand have yet to pick medallions, as there is no reason to. we do not currently gain loyalty, and Devs have said they most likely wont do a rollback for loyalty when they put it in. ergo, right now the medallions are so much cockpit dressing.

p.s. there are house medalions for sale for MC right now! but they dont say if they have the same bonus as our fancy phoenix medallions.

you know what i can't stand... people who don't read... obviously you passed over the section where i said that i had looked all over the forum for opinions and OFFICIAL WORD on what would be the best way to select medals... but yeah... go ahead... don't like me ... i don't give a F***... your an *** and a troll...

You seem to be the one lacking reading comprehension.

You lied about not knowing if the medallion choices were final or not. Then instead of waiting for an official response or doing more research made a hasty decision based on a random post you read.

His point is it has been stated numerous times those choices are final. If you had doubts and questions why couldn't you have just waited or just grabbed one for the faction you enjoy most and then waited for the other 3? Basically it sounds like you got anxious, made a poor choice, and now think everyone should accomodate that. Instead of posting this on the forums to try and garner support for this (in what seems to be the hope that you would get a bunch of players agreeing with you and "pressure" PGI to agree) you should have just contacted support and explained it to them and hoped for the best since there's really nothing to be gained from this post other than what it appears to be.

I still haven't chosen any medals, for the reason that I don't know how CW will work. I said yes in the poll, only for the reason that I don't think that the medallions should have been able to be selected without any real info on how LP will work in CW. But honestly, it's only a 2.5% bonus, so I don't think that it is a big deal either way- the percentage is low enough that I don't feel that it will really effect the overall accrual of LP.

If you are unsure, ask questions.

Unless there's a deadline, and those loyalty points are somehow tied into your success at this very moment... you could stand to ask questions.

Chances are, they will be sold, and your decision will look less silly later on.

Medallions themselves are what... hanging cockpit items? You can't fit more than 1 on any mech...

So, you either join one faction and select the same ones... assuming you are confident and not changing it or you pick 1 each of the factions of your choice (especially if you're a Merc or lone wolf).

It would've been nice had PGI allows for people to ask more questions in PP thread, to better compile a FAQ.

You know... the stuff that PGI is supposed to do for "proper communication".

I voted yes simply because CW hasn't been delivered, so nobody really knows what selection to make.

If they're going to sell medallions with loyalty bonus for MC, then I don't really care, if I want more medallions I'll buy them.

OP: You need to make a clear concise argument with the poll, otherwise you just sound like you're whining.

I just want to bring up one thought. I'm sure it was mentioned during the launch party presentation that loyalty points are going to be positive only, you can only gain them until you max out your loyalty with a faction, never lose them. This means that any time you've maxed your loyalty with a faction, whatever medals you have for that faction become nothing more than window dressing.

Really, I think that what has raised most peoples ire is the Op's comment about 3 medals being useless. That's only going to be true if a person stays with the same faction forever, and even then, at some point the loyalty boost from the useful medal will be useless. Personally, I would have chosen different medals instead of all the same to keep them useful for a longer period.

Just my 2 cents. Feel free to ignore and carry on.
