I know units are going to be getting drop ships, and not so much as to play a drop ship but rather to have a "active/actual" drop ship in game.

So for example a guild could buy different levels of drop ship and when you drop in game it shows up as part of the game (the version purchased).

These would be used a "defensive" posts. Protecting base, cap point, etc.

You missed one very important unit type, the http://mwomercs.com/...-patron-loader/ . This unit would open up other options in future, longer missions on bigger maps. Please read the thread and add your vote.

I think all of these troop types would be fine as expendable AI units controlled through the Battlegrid by the commander.

Or even just pure AI driven units that prowl around their teams side of the map and attack enemy mechs. Just take a look at 'Warthunder', those of you who've play might agree that things are a bit more interesting with all those trucks, artillery and Anti-air craft guns about.

I always thought it would be amusing to pilot a Hetzer in this game, but we'd need a much larger scale to make other vehicles an option.

Hmm, a few of those placed correctly could really ruin a Mechwarriors day

I would rather like to see them as something that is AI run. Say as an xp unlockable you have more conventional forces that you can give basic objectives to from the command screen. Kinda like modules but where cbills have to be spent to upkeep or replace lost forces. The problem you run into is that now you have a much more lethal battle field as there is a whole lot more firepower floating around. It would also give stuff for new players in light mechs to fight against while the big boys duke it out so they can earn their spurs.

MechWarrior: Living Legends is still around and you can pilot aerospace fighters there, tanks and power armor as well.

I played many of an hour on MW:LL and learned that people wanted to pilot anything but mechs given the chance. There were days I'd log in and find everyone in aerospace fighters mauling any mech foolish enough to step outside.

So thanks but no thanks. I want I play MechWarrior, not world of tanks, or war thunder.

It's not that people inherently hate mechs, though. It's an issue of balance. If they'd make mechs extremely very powerful in compare to anything else in the MW:LL, - "suddenly" you'll see universal love for mechs there. Anybody foolish enough to step outside in anything different than mech - would be mauled to death very quickly even by some poorly armed light mech.

Of course, this is an extremety. Precise and quite jentle balance is needed to ensure players want more than one type of vehicle/mech to pilot. When done right, it makes mechwarrior to be a better mechwarrior. That's what OP - and me, - are hoping for.

I would take an AI team of these over a PUG team any day: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Schrek

Infantry...but only when i can use those indestructable buildings. Me and my assault rifle will kill that Atlas...although i don't know if i have enough ammunition or if 15min is enough.

At current state - would be interesting to see tanks - because i can't imagine how the could be even more fragile as MWO mechs.

Alternative to Infantry....its HETZER TIME BABY

If I could land on enemy mechs in my helicopter and/or try to hit their cockpit hitboxes with my rotor blades, sure.

Something wrong with the forums? It shows Sephlock post as "Today" but when you view the actual thread, it shows "November 2013".

VTOLs is the proper term for Helo's in Btech, some were spinning rotors others used jet engines like the Harrier Jump Jets and the semi-working F35 Marine version.

So Helicopters is a misnomer for Battletech in general.

I would like to see Mechanized Vehicles and tanks introduced, and Battle armor would be interesting if we had dedicated player slots for them.

I'd like to have a Tank or VTOL escort my Mech around as a module, that'd be awesome ;)

How to play a tank from MW2 (note I can picture the commentary being some MWO players).
