I took a hiatus from MWO and gaming in general since about May and I am curious, aside from a plethora of new mechs, what have I missed? I am slowly reading but it's a lot to take in. Does anyone have a short bullet point list of major changes for the last few months or so?

Thanks

Not sure if you were around when JJ screen shake was introduced, also seismic detector module, ghost heat and ppc heat are a big one if you like to snipe. Uac-5s were buffed then nerfed, oh and if you use JJ they don't jump straight up anymore, slight movement forward while going up.

Thanks guys. I sort of expected the PPCs being hit with some kind of nerf. Truth be told, I had a PPC boat at times and it was pretty OP. Disappointed about SRMs, I remember they were pretty crappy when I left, too.

A bit more research ahead of me though; this will help and hopefully I'll be back in before the night's end. I guess the three differences from my end will be: new GPU (AMD 5850 -> GTX 780), new mouse and more RAM (6GB -> 24GB).

These bunnies... I am guessing it's one of those things :)

I as well have taken some time off for school, career changes and moving etc. Last time I played the spider was released until I dlowded the 27 or so patches last night. My biggest dissapointment has been the 3PV as I feel it takes away from the mech battle experiance and gameplay. Also I am sad I lost all my cool pain jobs and now even basic colors are locked. Glad to see 12 vs 12 and the new maps look exciting and I look forward to getting back in the game. Now time to explore the modules once again.

Welcome back and Battle well.

Man Daisy's list was pretty good, with the following additions:
- Gauss rifle firing mechanic significantly changed (for the worse, to stop it being paired with PPCs)
- LRMs are pretty well balanced now, AMS got buff
- Streaks damage was buffed, but damage no longer concentrates on CT
- two new maps, one of them great, the other terribad
- 3PV introduced. (While it didn't destroy the game, it certainly destroyed a lot of trust in PGI.)
- game ''launched''. (Which ended up being only the removal of the 'beta' tag and a party for some people in SF.)
- CBill earnings nerfed by around 30%
- Ghost heat: dual AC20s also quite affected (along with PPCs and AC2s)
- Spider hit detection worse than ever
- Ongoing lack of missed deadlines on deployment of UI 2.0
- No evidence of progress on Community Warfare, other than Phoenix owners getting (currently useless) faction medallions
- forum servers improved

Also LL and LPL and ERLL and Swayback/jack (ML).
And LRMs
And SRMs

And yes avg CB now is around 100-130k no bonuses. Depends on how much savior kills you get lucky with.

They also increased the heat on them and ERPPCs are now junk. Woohoo :P

You guys forgot the most gamechanging difference: Movement. You can no longer climb mountains, your mech is limited to the grade that it can climb and it also slows down based on the grade.

Basically you have to re-learn every single map because you can't take the same paths anymore.

MWO has become not like a fine wine maturing with age into a true delight, but more like left out spam or mayonnaise.
