I remember btech sometimes being a little odd on clarity. Try checking the tech readout of the nova to see if it has an actuator?

I get that, I am saying when I read the TRO for the blackhawk/nova it says nothing about using special rules.http://www.solaris7....Info.asp?ID=623
Thats cause on TT that was up to the GM and players. First time I ever ran into a Nova not having torso twist was in a MechWarrior title.

And they were taking artistic license with the rules as will this game I am sure. Regardless I still cant find anything saying the nova cant torso twist, in any rules I have looked at in the past hour of looking. Of course PGI is taking liberties with all chassis giving them perks and drawbacks on torso movement so I expect the same liberties to be taken with the Nova.

Perhaps though maybe instead of torso twisting it can change orientation fast. Who knows I know its not tabletop but I cant recall there being special rules for the Nova.
Being unable to torso twist is one of the Design Quirks found in Strategic Operations, one of the current (at the time of this post) BT Core Rulebooks.
"Some ’Mech designs, like the Bushwacker, lack the flexibility to twist at the waist (or don’t possess a waist to twist). A ’Mech with this quirk cannot torso twist." - No Torso Twist quirk, found on page 198 of StratOps
There is also an opposing quirk:
"Unlike most ’Mechs, one with this quirk can turn its torso much further. When torso twisting, the ’Mech can change its facing by one or two hex-sides." - Extended Torso Twist quirk, found on page 194 of StratOps
However, no 'Mech has true 180-degree torso twist (which would require being able to chance the torso's facing by three hex-sides) much less 360-degree torso twist.

It's cool.

Of course, the thing is that the original designs of the Locust, Jenner, and Cicada would likewise have been unable to torso-twist due to the same "main body suspended between the legs" design.

In each of those cases, the MWO version had the main body raised and the legs re-attached to a traditional pelvic assembly to allow for torso-twisting where it would be otherwise impossible.
IMO, it would/should be unsurprising if the MWO rendition of the Black Hawk were similarly modified.
