Finally got over my symmetry dork, and dropped to 3 SSRMs. Used that extra ton and a half to up my SL to a ML and added a ton of ammo. It loses a little up front punch, but in exchange you can stick around longer and deal a lot more damage.

Been having a lot of success in my 2ssrm2, 1sl, bap, 180xl locust. With bap and 2 streaks its quite easy to get 300+ damage and plenty of assists and kills, but I play it very dangerously and constantly hug bigger mechs.

I just switched out to the BAP, ML, 2 SSRMs (2 tons ammo) with a 190XL, and love it. I don't miss the alpha like I thought I would, and the BAP and extra ammo are priceless. Just had a match with 430+ damage and two kills (a Raven and a Jager), and I probably would have taken out that Orion too if we hadn't had capped. I LOVE it.

Remember, it is a bad idea for Case with an XL Engine. The reason why is the destruction of the ammo would then instead of spread but compact into that side torso, which equals to destruction of the side torso, or death. Just a note.

Exactly, as long as people ignore you and you are speedtweaked you can run in and out of streak range in no time at all and bap + the target accelerator module gets you streak locks really quick. I just wish I didnt have to carry the extra heatsinks as the build is super cool.

I can only run my 3S with 180XL, 2SRM2, MPL and AMS. Ever since adding AMS to all my Locusts, I am not sure I want to take it off. I just cannot stand SSRM even from behind they still take too long, SRM2 you just gotta time it and aim right. 4SRM may make too much heat or burn ammo too quickly, I forget which.
Oh, and I run Sensor Module plus one of the Strikes until I can purchase some new module with GXP.
What is really sick is that the 3S by stats is so far my best Locust and I have played it in fewer matches than the other 2.

Ran into this gem while playing:

Had a miserable game, but that's not the point. See that XP for countering ECM? I was in a Locust with BAP.
