True, it's impossible to get a really accurate picture with lasers because of how the system tracks a hit. That said, total damage per hit is still more representative of time on target with a laser than hit % is.

I use other weapons far less and I have gone upwards of a month without playing. I play light/med mechs and generally multiple lasers. Don't let this fool you though, I use PPCs and LRMs. :-)
Just generally prefer energy.

lol! I thought I was the only one who drew smiley faces with my lasers

I also fire at rocks while running past, practicing holding the beam on a particular place while running by.. then I loop back and check to see if i made a dot or a line
