good list, but theres stuff missing from it, like Atlas II and Annihilator, and that's just looking at 100 ton mechs beginning with A.

Alas II Ok Annihilator... Was a Dragoon's specific Mech so unless every House loves you, nobody should have one.

Wolfhound was already around for a while (3028), just it's variants aren't very different at all.

Use this site, search wolfhound, then sort by date.
http://masterunitlist.info/

Then cross reference it with sarna to get the hardpoints on the ones sarna lists.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page

I also tend to discount ones made in the Star League era and try to find out if they are lostech. Some are and even though they were very popular, are probably super rare since their factories haven't been around in sometimes hundreds of years.

There are much more holes in this list than that.

For instance, the Emperor is extinct by now and EMP-X doesn't even exit, so it lacks the 3rd variant.

Yes, you two should go do that... I just cut the obvious fluff from the list because It's not easy to you know... research and type in another web tab on a tablet.

Ack, sorry Joseph, but the Atlas II's all left with Kerensky according to Sarna:

Quote

when General Aleksandr Kerensky] put out his call for loyal forces to join him in his Exodus, every Atlas II pilot responded and left with him, leaving none of these designs behind. These 'Mechs are prized by the Clans when they were found. One such 'Mech was spotted in 3052 during the Battle of Tukayyid
6]
In the early 3070s, the design was resurrected by the Word of Blake when they captured Hesperus II's factories. After the liberation of Defiance Industries, Devlin Stone's coalition forces kept the 'Mechs in production.[6]

You are missing the Guillotine.

70 tons 4 variants

GLT-3N 2499
GLT-4L 2825
GLT-4P 2833
GLT-5M 3049

Unfortunately they are all pretty much identical.

Edit:

And the Grasshopper

70 tons

Hatchetman: No Melee, no use.

Zeus: 5 ton heavier Orion. Would look cool, not a lot else, but would be OK with.

King Crab: PGI is scared to give multi-ballistic locations to assaults, Strum is scared to alter pointless crits ( ) and The art department is scared of my redesign.

Wolfhound: Not enough variants, and slow laser boat is boring and outclassed by every other light on the field save the Locust.

Assassin: I would love it, but it would probably need to be sized like a Spider's big brother to stand a chance. Plus rare, and not many variants. Woiuld personally prefer the Vulcan, but would love to see more 40 tonners, period.

It's inevitable that we will get an Assault Mech with two or more ballistic mount locations. I'd rather see one before Clans arrive atleast, the King Crab is one of the main ones used at this time even.

Another reason why our current hardpoint system blows when it comes to distinguishing mech roles/strengths.

^
Being able to maximize armor in anything also does that - the Thunderbolt would be a god among men if the other heavies couldn't simply up their armor to be on the same level of durability.

PGI has been getting hardpoint happy ever since the Jagermech - a lot of the mechs since then have had a huge abundance of extra hardpoints, and the Phoenix mechs have only added to that. Mechs that only have an LRM and SRM stock are now capable of 4 LRM 15s, what's up with that (Highlander I'm looking at you)?

Honestly though, we need more weapons before we get more mechs. I feel my builds are all too similar with the limited weapon offerings...

No, no we don't.

Three out of five lights are chicken-walkers. That's quite enough.
