Okay you are new and don´t know much ´bout anything concerning the wars fought for centuries and piloting the titan war machines deployed in these epic conflicts.

No problem rook´thats why we´re here, to get you up and ready as soon as possible to fill the ever demanding ranks of the armies of Clans and noble Houses alike withe battle-ready, eager to die and triggerhappy new recruits.

To get you fast into the pilot seat and your hands on cockpit-controls take a quick overview of the game controls and where is what and what is what so you have your most fundamental "don´t know"s cleared right from start and some clue what you do and how to come from A to B.

After log-in to game (not website;)) u arriv e at the starting screen and control-center of the game. There is a "Menu" button (orange) in the lower left corner and a "Ready/Launch" button (onrange / blue-green) in the upper right. Left beside this "Ready-Launch" is a smaller one depicting a Mech (orange on gray).

On the lower right is a "Social" button and in the upper left are three tabs "Home", "Mechlab" and "Pilotlab". You allways start game-controle in "Home" tab.

On the "Home" tab you find a lot of advertising and news related to mwo in the main screen, which u can leave aside for now.

On the left side u find on the upper side a "Pilot-Info" depicting nothing else then the faction your pilot is in. For now you can leave that aside too. On

the lower part you can find depicted the four "trial" mechs. If you click one time on one of these you can notice that the colour of the button in the upper

right corner has changed from orange to green reading "Launch" instead of "Ready" now. Don´t click it just yet, hold on a second.

Right beneath the button is a info reading "Mode select: Any". Hmmm, what does that means?

Click on the small grey/orange button depicting a Mech. You find that an small window opens letting you choose the type of match to play: Conquer or Assault.

Clicking one of them close the window and apropriate type is shown as "Mode selected". The "Any" option simply means any one of those two types can be played.
Alternativly there is a blue coloured "Training Ground" option. If you click this one you come to a map-selection window where you can choose a map to train on and launch by clicking the launch-button in that window (lower right corner). To go there is a good idea just to get used to everything a bit.

Leave or look at controle-options by pressing "esc" on keyboard. That allways brings you to the main menu. Here you can choose going to "Options" (keyboard

and other controls), "Quit match" going back to "Home" tab or "Quit game" ending MWO alltogether. I f you look at the controls any want to go back from Menu to Trainigsground (or later battlefield) simply hit "esc" again.

After getting accustomed with controls on the trainingsground you can start a game-match to see the real battlefield action. So launch a `Assault´ or `Conquer´ match from "Home" tab.

Last advice before u headstart into action:

On the following match-start screen dont forget to press the "Ready" button (green) in the upper right corner as soon as possible. Your name in the lance rooster will be marked `Ready´in green letters. When everyone of both teams is ready the game starts. Otherwise it starts after 1 minute.

After pressing the ready-button read team goal as presented in the center of the match-start screen. Additionaly you can chat with your lance- and teammates

here using the chat window and buttons in the lower left of the screen.

When you are ready all that remains is just to wait to be drop on the battlefield in an instance...

good luck und have fun [*glhf*]

A few hints on the way:
- "B" for map overview (in/out) (movement of mech do not stop while using map)

- "F" center legs to direction u face with torso(to where you actually look)
= to move where you look

- "L" to get your view back to where you are actually moving to
(direction your legs are pointing to) = to look where you move

Tip: Use a Mouse for torso/arm movement (facing and firing aim) while controle leg pointing and movement (accellaration) with keyboard or joystick.

*Break before moving backward, it´s faster that way.
*Backward movement is slow so move/run forward to evade opposing fire!
*center torso and legs regularily (anyway round;)).
*Stay calm especially under fire;).
*stick with the main force 4 as long you got no clue to do otherwise:).
*Don´t be afraid of being wiped out thats all beginners constant fate, bear it with dignity and humor:). Battlescars are an honour!
*Don´t worry ´bout money. MWO is basically and in all important parts free to play!
*The important game-courency "c-bills" is gathered by playing real matches. No matter if you play a trial or an own mech, die, win or loose you get paid!
*15 to 30 matches are averagly enough to buy an own mech with the accumulated c-bills:). *Only these "owned" mechs can be customized and upgraded.

Now move out, drop off at the landing zone and earn your rewards in battle mechwarrior!
