I know enough not to ask when DX 11 is coming -- soon,TM right?

What I'm wondering is: when DX 11 does eventually come, does anyone know if that will pretty much for sure bring SLI compatibility?

I also dont know when DX 11 is coming. Maybe we will see it before Christmas, but who knows.

Nvidia added a SLI profile for MWO a long time ago in 2012. Maybe around the time the closed beta ended and the open beta started - dont remember that exactly. Since then MWO is officialy supported with SLI by NVIDIA but it don't work because of the combination of CryEngine 3 and only DX 9. SLI should work immediately after we have DX11 in MWO.

NO. DX11 does not make something SLI compatible.

SLI compatibility is handled separately.

SLI support isn't cheap and really isn't worth it in most cases. Many devs support it because rabid fans demand it, but honestly it offers limited improvements and very, very, very few people actually have an SLI configuration.

Honestly what you said makes no sense. If you're making a game which generates revenue purely on post-install transactions wouldn't you want to cater to the crowd which clearly spends more money (people who SLI)? And by "very, very, very few people" are you referring to MWO users or PC users in general. Because idk where you're pulling these statistics from without having any concrete info on how many people actually SLI/Crossfire. It makes virtually no sense for IGP to not include SLI support when Nvidia blessed it off last year when it was going into Open Beta. And "little to no performance"? How about a 60-90% performance increase?

When it's working again, use the Steam Hardware Survey as reference (http://store.steampo...d.com/hwsurvey/).

SLI accounts for less than 10% of all gamers (across all people is less than 1%, but many of those systems are for work and not play) AND I do not know that there's a correlation between those people who spend a lot on rigs with people who spend a lot on in-game-items. The correlation might even be negative as "rig people" might prefer physical objects when spending money.

There's also the fact that DX11 benefits you with nearly everyone while SLI only benefits NVIDIA SLI users. When you have limited resources to invest, you invest them where they make the biggest return on the investment.
