Pretty pleace,

Standing right behind the mech in front of you prevents him from getting back to cover, so it's effectively a teamkill.

Also you won't be able to shoot through him anyways so you're useless there.

Thank you.

Spacing is important. And this goes both ways.

Mechs in front? Try to stick to a side of an entrance so other folks can get around you. You'll take less fire if there's a buddy next to you anyway, Same with rounding a corner, either take it tight or swing wide so you can bring a buddy along.

Mechs in back? Give the mechs in front of you some space so you can stop without hitting them, and back up if they need to back up. Unless you're firing over them (JJs or small mechs in front), being too close is simply all bad and no good.

Everyone? Communicate when you can. Spacing will be different when you're doing a dedicated push vs general combat, so letting people know what you're doing will help mechs space out better.

So, I saw my favorite today.. I am blasting away with my Catapult-K2's 2 ERPPCs in advanced zoom. Another pilot hits their jump jets and bounds over me and lands in front of me. Then opens up their Missile pods and fires off a set of missiles. Why?

Did you not think I was doing damage at that spot? Did you feel that your catapult build was sturdier then mine? Did you want me to check to see if my reactions were fast enough not to fire off that alpha strike into your backside?

Just asking....

I will never understand why some folks race to be first in front, and then STOP in the way, blocking anyone from getting through. Example getting into the center in Terra, the tunnel in Forest, the tunnel in Crimson. Or, choose your choke point, but you get the idea. Why in the @#^&! would you race to the entrance first and then prevent anyone else from pushing through.

It's maddening enough to make you want to clean off the back of their mech for them.

If you're not going to push through the choke point and beyond, then get the @#^&! out of the way!

But if you're just ridge humping and shooting, yeah, no reason for another mech to crawl up your backside and block you.

My favorite is when they are not only behind you when you are trying to back up, but they start firing and hit you repeatedly without stopping.

Or you're on top of a hill by yourself sniping away when some shows up and complains about you hitting them when they walk in your way.

Helps me get to work faster too! I find I get to work later if I end up following someone with a bike rack.

Have darn near killed several teammates (Not on purpose, I swear :D ) that have strafed out in front of me while engaging. My snark reply usually goes along the lines of "What did you expect walking in front of a Autocannon on full tilt?"

Couldn't agree more. Had an horrible orion pilot @ river city the other day. Other team was heavy on LRMs and parked behind the citadel. We stayed hidden in lower city.
I had my 733c (all guns on right side) and moved around corners, fired, and backed away to avoid the missile rain. But every ****** time that stupid orion had moved up and denied me the retreat! I repositioned and tried again - nope, same orion blocking me. Finally fired my PPCs (no damage due to min range) at his cockpit - that made him back off...
Not to mention all those Atlai on Terra Therma who instead of pushing/let the better suited mechs do the sniping decides to block the entrace and slowly die from enemy fire. Why why why?
