As someone who's followed the setting slavishly since the field manual: Draconis Combine first came out, the possibilities inherent to this game excite me in a way very few others have, period.

Now to play some Megamek, and get back into the FPS habit.

Long live the blade of the chancellor!

Sharpen your Dao.

Power up your Vindicator.

Top your PPC off with plum wine, hoist your glass, and toast the Chancellor.

It's about time to show the other Houses what it means to be Capellan.

If you don't like Asians, you'd be better off as a Feddie Swine err Davionista. I'm just sayin'. :)

It still bothers me that the Davions manage to steal not only our traditionally Scottish units but also our Russian ones during the 4th Succession War. What Hanse Davion didn't destroy, the Federated Commonwealth absorbed. It seems to me that while a sizable part of the Capellan population still has Scottish and Russian ancestry, our military traditions were hit very hard. I'm not certain such influences appear strongly anywhere in the Capellan Confederation outside of the St. Ives Commonality.

While Sun-Tzu managed to capitalize on the Confederation's Chinese heritage with the Xin Sheng movement, I recall that previous Liao chancellors were just as likely to ride around wearing a kilt.

Speaking from a future perspective, the Liao Commonality, when it's reestablished, carries a slight amount of culture shock with it from its thirty-year separation. A lot of the worlds with non-Han traditions are up there.

Purple does not = idiots. Those Free Worlds Leaguers are actually quite cunning when they aren't arguing. I think you just don't like the color purple.

Huh. I thought he was talking about the color the Davionistas turn when they are ranting about how evil we are.

Could be lumping Steiner and Davion into one basket. They were technically the "same" faction in MW4, Civil War aside. If that is the case the poor guy is going to be miffed to know that they might as well pass by us to the Concordant. The Majestry is strongly middle eastern/ Mediterranean in it's styling, Outworlds they would have to go through Combine space, The Makos don't exist right now. Hmmmmm... Maybe the Marions. I'm sure Cesar O'Reily would have a place for a warrior.

I seem to recall FM:Periphery mentioning a Capellan expatriate who found his way into the Marian Legion after losing his world to the FedCom. Then again the Periphery will take anybody who shows up with a Mech. Back in the day, when MechWarriors checked out of the Inner Sphere and hightailed it to the Periphery, they could very easily end up owning the planetary system themselves.

Amen to that Kyll Long. While we might not be the biggest house with the strongest military, Liao was always known for its great online community and players. In that sense..Long live Liao! :-)

You mean Clans, right? Well, I got to Liao from them (I was one of the n00bs who wanted shiny guns, how foolish of me :D ). Liao is a good house, if I overlook the asian things about it (most important leaders, some mechs and architecture). Guess I'll join someone like Tikonov Guards, or whatever was the name of that Russian/Welsh unit. :)
