I will get it when it's on sale or when the heat on pulse lasers is lowered
like the paint job though
I hope the hunchback hero will be more interesting

As far as I'm concerned, MWO went full pay2win today. This is hands down the best catapult loadout in the game. (though you could shave some leg armor and get a STD280 instead) Combined with the 30% CB bonus, this thing was built from the ground up for solo pub farming.
I guarantee you if take the Jester and only the Jester, it will not raise my win rate above 50%.
Therefore it's not pay to win. I think you're just using the terminology wrong.

I've seen two today in two matches. They were cored instantly. As long as they have the giant ct with the centered head hitbox they will always be one of the worst mechs in the game.
Yep, I got headshot in my second match with Jester. You can't so much as look at another mech without being susceptible.

I'm not sure what it matters if 2 energy points are in CT? You were not seriously planning to put in more than 4 PPC or 5 large lasers anyway?
And it is a fun mech to drive, also looks quite a bit like that skeleton camo when painted more conservatively. Not my favorite still, but can use 3 colors without eyes melting.
And tastes differ: Jagermechs are so ugly I'd never pay real money for one, no matter what it could do.

Only bad players get "cored" instantly, My Elited K2 with 4Mlas, 2 LB10Xs, & a 300XL is consistently the highest scoring mech on the team I play on and many times the highest in the match in pugs. Next time think before you talk out your a$$.

Don't be a *** (that's a ****** for you UKers) - run what's fun. Else, we're back to a bunch of 3L ravens and DDC's everywhere (they ******* BLOW).
I think the K2 is the best looking mech in MWO and i've had one since CB, but it still dies very easily because of the huge ct. Plus with the head being dead center of the torso it's easy to headshot too, even accidentally.

I've had a K2 long enough to know what i'm talking about, and i can only assume your teammates are really bad.

This is spot on for Cats in general, not just this version. The solution I have found is to play my Cats like mediums, and I do fairly well. The extra speed on the Jester can get you into trouble quickly if you're not careful, but it will also get you out of trouble, especially with the JJs.
If you want to play competitively, the Cat is too fragile. For pugs, it's fine once you realize how to avoid rather than tank damage.
If you hate playing Cats because they're fragile, you would hate playing almost any medium in the game.

boy, I'd LOVE to run into you in My Shad. Catapults are tasty and squishy. Oh so yummy!

really? I love playing Shads, Hunches and Cents, and feel the Cat IS too fragile, mostly because it's an oversized walking CT with the head right in the squishy middle. I'll take any Cat in the game from my HBK-4G or my Shad and feel pretty confident.

yeah, I noticed. Did NOT like that. They could have just made it armored sheathes over the barrels. Do love how UACs look in it's chin though....

Yes but only an ***** faces a boomcat head on. They are slow, have horrible fire arcs and no JJs. You attack their flanks. And they die. A boomJager? A touch more difficult. Arm mounted Booms make such a difference.

My cicadas tank damage as well or better than the cat because they are faster and harder to hit, and the shadowhawks are just beasts in general. I find LRM cats do alright because you can largely stay out of sight, or at least behind other mechs. Fire support cats (once the era of SRM usefulness ended...) feel like too much of a liability. You end up spending 90% of the match looking at a rock wall hoping that when you pop out to fire no one sees you. PPCs do okay with this, but a pure energy boat of a catapult is just BAD.

It's the closest a Catapult can get to being a decent brawler, as long as you use the speed and agility like a medium to hit and run without trying to be a tank. I find it more survivable than staring at the enemy with your huge head and CT waiting for LRMs to slowly fly over to them anyway.
For some reason the big CT seems to be seen by some as a liability and nothing more, but to me it makes the Catapult special. Without it you couldn't be safe running XL engines, but you wouldn't have the tonnage to work well with a STD engine. Stalkers can afford to be zombies and still have enough guns, Cats just can't really do that. With the XL though they have the speed and firepower to be good fun, even if they aren't used at high competitive levels.
