The Awesome is junk currently... and I still have an 8R mixed LRM boat with a nice kill/death ratio and I enjoy playing it. But that still doesn't excuse the mech from being terrible, rendering it a "noob trap" for somebody who wants their first assault mech and who likes the angry, hulking look of the Awesome.

1) Hitboxes: Make the arm hitboxes extend up the shoulders, pull in the center torso, and then fill in the gaps with the side torso. Most of the worst problems are now fixed with this change.

2) Ghost Heat: Really, it needs to go, but at the bare minimum all mechs should be able to run their stock loadouts without ghost heat. Or, go with my suggestion that I've mentioned a few times: if a mech is limited to 1 weapon type (energy, ballistic, missile) it gets a +1 bonus to the number of weapons of that type that it can use before ghost heat kicks in. Is this more complicated? I guess... but if ghost heat, mech perks, and all that other stuff was actually documented in the game, I don't think it would be a problem. This would allow the 8Q a reason to exist and would let it run its stock loadout without ghost heat.

3) Pretty Baby: Get rid of the "stops like a bus" drawback. It is insulting since no other hero mech has a unique drawback associated with it, and it is silly since the Pretty Baby was perhaps the most nimble assault in lore... so it handles like a rusted-out dump truck... right... Also, if we're going to punish fast assaults, why doesn't the Boar's Head have this drawback?

These changes would fix the Awesome, help out some other limited mechs, and maybe bring back anyone who felt they got cheated by buying the Pretty Baby.

Guys my PB is frigging NASTY in battle. I use it as a sniper mech with the advanced zoom and a ppc and a er ppc. Dude I WREACK HAvoc with that mech. I dont know the other hardpoints.

Yes everyone LOVES to hit me in the CT. BUT I simply give them my hip and kinda look side ways with it and throw in snipes. Seriously my Awesome Pretty boy is one of my favorite mech and boy do I have mechs....

This mech is a TERRIBLE brawler FYI do not spec it for that.

The thing that strikes as crazy about the Awesome is how much chunkier the actual model is than the original concept art. I mean look at this:

and compare it to this:

There's not a huge difference, but the concept art definitely looks skinnier than the in-game model. A lot of mechs are like this. What's happening during the transition from 2D to 3D?
