I stopped playing a good 6 or 7 months ago, maybe more.

I've come back, and it's worse.

No more robots stomping around and fighting, but rather robots stacking a bunch of pinpoint sniper weapons and blasting each other's weapons off in a volley or two.

See you next year, please don't disappoint!

Every single match I've played today had either a mix of long-range fighting and brawling, or only brawling.

Same here.

I am seeing a lot of 2xLL Gauss builds. I don't mind because the guass rifle explodes no matter what. ahahhaha!

Games now generally follow a pattern of starting off with sniping, but then progressing to a brawl when either side makes a push of some sort.

That's a lot better than just close range brawling right off the bat every game (which people complained about in Closed Beta) and sniping all game (which people complained about several months ago).

Just "stomping around and fighting" gets boring quickly. I actually remember how refreshing I found it when people started gravitating towards snipers (Gausscat) and you actually had to think about your movement and positioning on maps.

OP is probably one of those brave assault pilots that wandered into the open and got obliterated by the whole enemy team in mere seconds.

Seriously, stop using pin-point weapon as an excuse. You got focus fired, you got outplayed. Pin-point or not, even you're in an atlas you'll be down in mere seconds.

I wish people would stop telling themselves "I'm the tank class" when they play this game.

Here, Here Mike

There is no tank class, there are no heals, there is no damage reduction or mitigation etc. You want to fight out in the open you'll be a prime target for those who have situational awareness and are working as a team, this game and all other MW games are and were all about tactics and team play. Although I agree that some wepons and systems are OP(but that's for another post) you have to learn to play them. Adapt and ovecome.

I remember when you, me, Ice, and team leader used to raid in superfast atlases.

So it is back to TT standards? Excellent. All weapons should die once they are hit.

400 XLs. We only had mostly tech 1 back in that stage of closed beta. Small groups of founders and experienced beta players formed killsquads that swiftly farmed out less geared opponents. It was a harsh world, but it was fun. Things seemed so promising.

I have many fond memories of this game's closed beta period.

Pretty much. Ballistics were practically unusable until much later. They had super slow projectiles, little ammo, and extremely long cooldowns.

Then after the gauss became worthwhile, they eventually made the ACs worth your time, too, so we had some more weapons to pick from.

My disspointment is its become vanilla. It becomes a grind going up against the same teams over and over with very few total pug matches. Some say its elo and MM but I goofed with my socres running crazy builds for fun and honestly as I do good or bad I still see the same people.
Just not enough new blood anymore.
I dont want to be competitive have rank or any of the other siliness. Its a game so i cant take that serious. Just want to have fun trying builds and weird off the wall tactics. Pretty sure lots of other do to. Kinda wish the game was more fun in that regard instead of the whole I am king of an imaginary hill made of electrons. Right now the game is only fit for psychopaths and serial killers.

Yeah I came in after the speed cap unfortunately. I still think an Atlas should be allowed to mount a 400 rate engine. 70 KpH is still slow and well under the 151+ cap.

Sorry, PPC-gauss meta is long dead. Come back with a real argument (It's not hard, there is alot that is wrong with this game right now).

Try creating an Alt. See if you have the same problems starting from scratch. I was surprised at how at a lower Elo I was actually "good" in a Light for a few days. :P

The boarer's remorse hero gets 400 engines, but it's too gimped for me. I've played the same build in my founder for almost a year now.

If you stopped 6-7 month ago... you played 8 vs. 8 - now you play 12 vs.12, that was the most gamechanging feature since ECM... and 6-7 month ago was primetime for sniping meta now we have a really good mix, everything beside flamers is in use on the 'field...

sounds like you were killed when running around in the open...
