Honestly I don't even remember the last time I saw a DS. And do tell why the DS is good.
And that is problem why(Charger)?

Not with 24 DHS. Efficiency around 40%. Or you can mix LL and ML and an STD.

Hmm... 90 KPH+JJs+ assult mech armor+40 firepower = great, not good. Why? becuase no other mech can.
Charger = bad becuase ohhhhh I dont know all weapons on one arm.

Other Victor's can do the same thing arguably better.

Do FRR guys have something against short range weapons/brawlers?

You do realize you can take PPCs with MLs as backup for example?

With the current heat system, I'd much rather run PPCs with AC backup than ML backup (which you can do with existing models of Victor). There's just no practical way to use 10 energy hardpoints in a meaningful way - heck, I struggle to use the 7 on my BLR-1G.

If the underlying energy weapon balance concerns were resolved, I still wouldn't advocate adding a 10E victor, because it would further invalidate the Awesome.

I definitely think there's room for creativity in adding new hero mechs (and I certainly have nothing against brawlers -- I run one much of the time), I just don't think this is a good potential hero mech.

Nope, run my vtr-9s that way. :D

Some of us remember when you could essentially make that build with an AWS in closed beta. Sans JJs, maybe a few less lasers, but basically big freaking engine in an 80tonner boating mpls or mls and srm6s.

Not with a 380xl engine you can't - at least not sanely even if were to fit - which is pretty much "charger" territory, basically what the OP is talking about.

Well I still prefer lasers/energy. Most of my favorite mechs are energy heavy. You can use them if you don't mind not being able to use all your weapons at once.

If you drop 4 DHS and add ES you can. Although the efficiency is 31%.
Also I remember that and I ran the 9m recently with pure MPL. Depends on the map mostly. I had much better luck with an LL+ML/LL boat (pre GH)
PS OP=Me

Yeah, I don't really consider 31% sane. Point I was making though was that the Hero mech in the OP wouldn't really be all that great. And with all the hardpoints in a single arm, PPC/ML mix goes out the window anyway. :D I know were talking about an AWS build, but we were using those as examples of how that Victor hero has kinda already existed back in the day.
