Just don't forget to turn it off when you don't want to use it, which is what my feeble little mind has to worry about.

Manipulating Game Data Files except what goes in user.cfg has been forbidden yonks ago, see the post by Viterbi. That is why the game ignores your modded file.
EvilC's Autohotkey script or similar workarounds do still work and are allowed though.

TAG sticks for 2 seconds, so all you really need to do is poke them right before the LRMS hit OR TAG them to break through 7 get locks faster.

having it always on is a dead giveaway of your locations on visual sightings.

I know this is an old thread ... but I noticed folks talking about coding a toggle into the app ... here is my solution, works great if you are just a bit handy with a soldering iron :D

Some modern keyboards or gaming mice allow for this too.

Ah .. I see, that is good to know ..most of my input devices are ... hmmm ... how should I say that .. 'older' :D and will not allow for that .. but as you can see I did find a work-around :)
