I'll keep this short:
I think it would be pretty great to have the option to use MC to purchase permanent c-bill\exp boosts for non-hero mech variants. Said boosts can be less effective or more expensive than equivalent hero mechs, so that the incentive to buy hero mechs is not lost in case that is a concern.
Really, the main motivation behind this is that I have some very favorite mechs that I don't run often enough because I can grind more c-bills using a hero mech. I know premium time helps, but it would be nice to get more out of some of my favorite non-hero mechs. I am sure others are in the same boat.
Thoughts?

Could be Interesing.
They could go with medals like they are with loyalty. Medals that give C-bill or XP bonuses to the mech they are in.
Or even a Module. Something like "BAP Recorder" For XP, and "Salvage Spotter" For C-bills.
It would be interesting, but I am not sure if PGI would do it. One of the main reasons for adding the +% Cbill and XP to their hero and custom mechs is to net them real Money. SO Unless they made it really expensive... they want you to keep buying that new "Meta" mech to get the bonus and Keep paying.

They can easily make money from this. Just charge enough that it doesn't make all of your other mechs obsolete. I woud limit it to one mech per account that you can do this to. I've asked for something similar to this since CB. Let us "heroize" one of our own personal mechs that we enjoy running around in. Tha way we can do our own personal camo and color schemes and actually make it our own. Just adds a little coolness to dropping yourself into this universe and making your own mark as a hero pilot. You could also add a counter that a pilot must have xx amount of wins in that mech before having the option to me it a hero mech. There's a few things you could do but limiting it to one per account would stop the concern about hero mechs becoming obsolete

But Once you allow a player to "heroize" one of their mechs, it becomes a problem.
Even if you limit it to one, The player is going to want to change it. That shiny new mech comes out that they are in love with. All of a sudden they want to "heroize" that mech. So, they require a way to move your "Heroizing"
Maybe Limit the ability to 'Heroize' your mech to once a month?

I don't see it like that though. Tell players and be clear, it is a one-time only thing. The whole point of a "hero" mech is that that mech and pilot have become famous (infamous?) throughout the inner sphere. I understand that there can be buyer's remorse with this idea but you don't get everything you want in life. I have no doubts that some would whine and wail against the "unfairness" of only being able to select one mech like this but that doesn't mean you cave to that kind of mentality.

I suggested this a while back.
Heroize a Mech for MC.
Once set, cannot be changed, if you want another mech Heroized, then you have to pay MC again.
Would have to based a about the price of buying a new HERO mech of the appropriate weight class.

yea a few of us have been suggesting this since CB, it really baffles me that some of the ideas players have suggested and been clamoring for like this are just seemingly ignored. Ideas like this are basically "Please PGI, take my monies!" and yet they never respond to this kind of stuff.

Well I guess I shouldn't have a fit over this as long as its as expensive as a hero mech is yes but other wise no it would just be a cheap way to get more c-bills and those no pun about it! If the price decreases to heroize compared to buying a hero mech what are people going to choose?

I don't think anyone is suggesting or expecting it to be cheaper, just have the option.
