Targeting friendlies with a blue or teal square (depending on team or lance), is a great idea. The percentages don't really tell you anything about health. You could be one med laser away from death and still be showing 84%.
However, I don't want my enemies knowing I'm about to overheat. That's all part of the intimidation guessing game, and to just display it would remove a skill component. Usually I can tell from the loadout and rate of fire if an enemy is in the red. Displaying heat alongside would take away from the skill aspect.

With coolant flush, external temperature effects and efficiencies, i think it requires a lot more than just skill to tell if an enemy Mech will shut down soon or not.
It doesn't have to be added to the basic sensors, but it's a nice feature to add to BAP or any targeting module.
