Since we can obviously now get Mechbays for Hero (Phoenix) mechs will the Jester get a Mechbay of it's own?
Will Mechbays be rewarded for previously bought heroes?

No and no, most likely.

The Phoenix 'mechs were an exception (as were the Founder 'mechs who also came with their own MechBays), and since no other Heroes come with their own MechBay I wouldn't assume the Jester would break that mould.

I hope so, given the amount of money they want for heroes, those extra 300 mcs for the mechbay it's like a further tax.. but I think nothing will change until UI 2.0 or if they'll be generous by bundling a mechbay along with the hero.

The problem is that they can't bundle items in ui 1.5. The pheobix mechs aren't an exception, because you can't buy them in the mechlab... That's WHY you can't buy them in the mechla, and why you have to wait for patch days to get phoenix mechs.

They came with P mechs why not with heroes.

And do you have a source for that?

They can obviously bundle items since you get colors, camo, bays and mechs with P packs.

did you not read what I wrote? They can't bundle items you buy in the in game store. You don't buy PPacks in the in game store, you buy them on the website. You'd have to search old Dev posts, though, they discussed this early this year. I'm on my phone at work, so I don't have quote hunting time.

However, that is the case. One of the store features of ui 2.0 they are looking forward to is bundling things like this so they can make more interesting sales.

See also: why you can't buy Ppacks with MC, or get them when you buy them. The ui doesn't support it, they need to be added manually to your account.

See AtD 36, and again in AtD 43:

Quote

Viper69: Would you consider giving people a free mech bay with the purchase of a hero mech? It is a nice little touch to make people buy if you give a little you can get a lot.
A: Currently this is a technical limitation, we are unable to offer bundles. With the launch of UI 2.0, we plan to support bundles, bundle prices, etc..

Question from mint frog: Why aren't we seeing weekly challenges/achievements to retain players?

Answer from Bryan: The achievement system is coming with UI 2.0. We have a very expansive meta game in development right now that requires a large refactoring of our backend systems. Once complete, we will be able to add challenges/achievements, bundles, and all kinds of other reward goodies. In the short term players will be able to earn double XP for the first victory of the day on each owned `Mech.

They said it's not possible because you buy the Hero mech from in game. Since the Founder's mechs, Phoenix mechs, and Sarah's Jenner were put onto your account from outside the game, they can include the free mech bay that way.

Soooo. Then just have people buy hero mech's from the website and then deliver them with a mechbay the following patch?

or don´t be a cheapskate and buy a extra nmechbay if you need it... Not only will you have a extra mech bay but you will be able to support the game you like.

That's not how it works.

Phoenix, Sarah, Founders were purchased OUTSIDE the game, ergo, came with mechbays.

Heros are purchased IN GAME through the mechbay... you have to have one to buy one.

If it helps you, just IMAGINE that the price of the Hero is 300MC less than it would be if you hadn't already bought the mechbay.

Maybe I should also buy IMAGINE that I'm getting the Hero for free while paying for it?

And they could give you an additional mechbay when they patch.

I assume of course that all your mechs are MC bought since only a cheapskate would use CBs to buy mechs, right.

Well, you'd think that being a Founder and have been around the forums for over 1,000 posts, that by now, you'd have figured out how the system works.

N00b question is n00b.

Well anyway it will be interesting to see what happens when we get UI2.0 (if ever).

Its a legit question because PGI's answer is obviously flawed, as stated above the simplest solution would be to patch in a new mechbay the following patch after purchase.

That said, its a moot point anyways; 75MC per ton for the Hero. Who cares about 300MC after that purchase. :)

always hated the Hero formula, and doubly so if they come with standard engines. If they are going to be 75mc per ton no matter what, gimme as many upgrades as possible. I can always sell the 400 XL after.

+1. I'm OK with the pricing, but I hate "oh and 4MM c-bills to make it passable too."

While slightly irking, tolerable because C-Bills and Hero Mechs gravitate together. :)
