I have been thinking of running a Locust again since I master all 3.
But I am reluctant... LOL...

as weak as it is, I've had fun with these. I managed to get two Firebrand kills in the same match using the 1V, and took out a Hunchback yesterday before his friends got me. not assists, kills. Not sure how I pulled that off. The rest of the time I use the S with LRM 5s and harrass the enemy from the rear.

Of course I die more often than not, but I've teamed with people and been an effective scout for them. I found the enemy and then ran a different direction. No kills but I survived with 9 assists.

The leg armor could use some work, I've had mechs fall further and take nothing, and the locust would need both hips replaced falling half that.

I'll necro this thread because I love my Low-cost. I understand and accept that it is weak, that's part of the fun. I've seen some exceptional pilots and hope to be one too someday. It's a wonderful feeling to be a beat up 20 tonner posting 400+ game.
My only two gripes are; legs are too easily damaged just running over rough terrain. The other gripe would be that speed should be its one and only claim to fame... Anything heavier should not be able to keep pace.
Love my little mech!

It would be as simple as letting you be able to put less that 10 heat sinks on.

Or making it significantly smaller than a Jenner.

What I would like to see is the Locust having some form of advantage over the other light mechs, like maybe increasing the engine size so that it can out preform other lights in speed. It would be nice to see the locust able to go a solid 10km faster than any other light, and shrinking the leg hitboxes on the Locust is quite advantageous.
